The Danna Langkawi, Malaysia

This is simply an exceptional hotel in a beautiful peaceful setting with a private beach and wonderful swimming pool. The service levels are superb and employees without exception warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are clean and spacious and the dining areas all very good with a wide choice of cuisine. Would recommend this hotel to anyone there is simply nothing not to like.

We've stayed in Langkawi many times. Our hotel of choice previously, Te Andaman, had sadly closed due to a fire so we looked elsewhere. We gad seen the Danna being built on previous stay so knew the location well set in a small harbour with its own private beach. On arrival we all were given a short relaxing shoulder massage before being shown around the hotel by a member of staff. This included an Olympic size pool which was amazing. We had a long stay here: 12 nights. I cannot praise the hotel enough. Quiet, relaxing, great rooms. We had a Harbour view room. Huge bed with another single for my daughter and still plenty of room. The amenities: Bath (very big), shower, double sinks and toilet was a huge room. We had the turn down service every night (Free) where our water was replenished and on occasion small gifts left for us by the staff. The hotel has a great location. We hired a car for a couple of days to get around but the hotel will drop you off at the Oriental village a couple of miles away which gives you access to the sky cab and other attractions. Overall I cannot praise this hotel enough. A fabulous stay.

Gorgeous hotel. Here for a 10th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Marina 4-bay suite which has its own private pool. Absolutely enormous space with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, office area, second (smaller) living room, 2 bedrooms and a balcony. Lovely view over the marina and the mountains. Staff was very accommodating and helped out with everything really quickly. Breakfast was a bit disappointing (a hot noodle bar would make a difference instead of the self cooked option) and dinner at Planters and the Pernanakan restaurant were both just okay. But the white sand beach is lovely, the sunset is really nice and the property overall is great. If you have a small group, the Marina 4-Bay Suite room is amazing!

As many of you who have read our reviews before, will know that we do not venture out of the hotel very and, when you meet this level of service and luxury, why would you. Although we did venture out one night to a local restaurant :-) From the moment we were picked up by the Hotel's luxury car to the moment it dropped us back at Langkawi airport we enjoyed the most sumptuous service, food, and accommodation. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room, a seaview suite on the top floor, as peaceful , relaxing and had wonderful views from the sun beds on the large balcony. Both our room and overall hotel was spotless and very clean. We spent a lot of time by the pool so we have to mention the Pool Bar staff who took very good care of us (Achik, Zamirul, Norizan, Shahrul, Akmal, Amar, Ikhwan) and also a special mention to Kriemi amd NieNie (Aznie) in the Verandah bar. Would we go back ? Of course and we are already looking into flights in November 2026 when they get released :-) Keith and Caroline
