The Danna Langkawi, Malaysia

We’ve just come to the end of a fantastic stay and wanted to share how much we enjoyed the experience. From the moment we arrived, the team were warm, welcoming and consistently professional. A special mention must go to Hakimi, Eilah and Head Chef Hisham at the Terrace restaurant. The service there was exceptional throughout, and the food was superb — easily on par with many high-end city centre restaurants we’ve visited. The Terrace is a real highlight and a huge credit to the hotel. Wahieda in the breakfast room also stood out. She was attentive, friendly and always made sure we were well looked after, which really set the tone for each day. The rooms were extremely comfortable, with excellent bedding that made it very easy to relax. The gardens and surrounding greenery are beautifully maintained and really frame the hotel, adding to the overall sense of calm and quality. We were also kindly upgraded to a villa, which we greatly appreciated. It gave us a more peaceful space to unwind, especially when the main pool area was busy. All in all, this is a hotel we would happily recommend and would very much look forward to returning to in the future. Thank you again to the whole team for such an enjoyable stay.

As seasoned travellers our stay in villa 601 was a 5 star experience. Despite an issue upon arrival the staffs response set the perfect tone for our holiday. The villa is possibly the best we have seen let alone stayed in. It's a completely detached, tranquil and features it's own private pool, large lounge, huge bedroom and private gated access straight onto the beach. It also has its own massage beds in a decked court yard. The huge bathroom is also a sight to behold. The service is immaculate with twice daily house keeping and turn down service. The breakfast staff (Syed) even greeted us by name each morning. Huge thanks FaFa, Syed and the guest relations team for their proactive care via WhatsApp. Dining was excellent in all 3 restaurants Planters, Terrace and Straits and Co. Particularly Planters where we had truffles potatoes wedges, Beef tenderloin (cooked to perfection) and creme brulee. All of which were to a very high standard. While the resort feels secluded the grab app (similar to uber) makes exploring easy and affordable. A 20-30 minute journey cost the equivalent of around £4-5. We would 100% recommend the Danna if you are planning to stay in Langkawi.

We had a fantastic stay at The Danna Langkawi and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and exceptional food. From the moment we arrived, Fuad the GM, Wani, Zureimy and their team made us feel genuinely welcome. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and every team member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. The room was spotless, well-appointed, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a long day. Housekeeping did a great job maintaining everything to a high standard throughout my stay. What truly stood out, though, was the food. The hotel’s restaurant exceeded expectations with a wide variety of delicious options. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, offering both local and international dishes that were fresh and full of flavor. We also had dinner there one evening, and the quality was just as impressive—beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Wahieda in the restaurant was amazing! She is an asset to the Hotel. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and excellent dining made this a memorable experience. We would definitely return on my next visit. It was a nice experience, this place is 20 min drive from the airport and has a private beach which is clean. Nice variety of food in the restaurants. Service is amazing. A must visit resort if you want to have a leisure trip.

Stayed at the Danna for 4 nights and it was great. The food options were fantastic, especially loading up on breakfast before the day ahead. The spread was nice and varied from day to day. I had dinner at Planters and at the Terrace. Both experiences were great. The rooms were nice and large, with a very spacious bathroom, and the beds were real comfy. The facilities and hospitality by staff was excellent. I spent hours in and by the pool and beach. Staff were attentive and were real hospitable. The only downside is that the Danna is located quite far from the main towns on the island, but that’s personally okay for me as it allows the Danna to have this air of isolation and even a sense that it’s a private area where nature and humans can coexist. I even managed to see hornbills on the balcony. Grabs are relatively cheap from the hotel and it’s about a 5 minute ride to the Langkawi SkyCab cable cars. It was a terrific 5 day stay at The Danna and I would definitely stay here again if I’m visiting Langkawi again.
