The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi

I had always wanted to see Langkawi but never managed it during many business trips to Malaysia. I am so glad in my retirement I got to experience this beautiful island . And so pleased I did it staying at the Ritz Carlton . I booked an ocean view pool villa with beach access and was not disappointed . A spacious villa with every need catered for . The service from the entire team, from housekeeping to restaurants, for the entire stay was second to none . Nothing was too much trouble. A special mention for Sara, my wonderful butler , whose kindness , thoughtfulness and general happy demeanour made my holiday particularly special, for which I will always be especially grateful. Here’s to the next time!

Dear Management of The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi, I am writing to formally express concern regarding the music played during the Ramadhan buffet at Langkawi Kitchen. The devotional chant “Hare Krishna” was played during the dinner session, after the initial berbuka puasa period. Although it was not played exactly at the moment of breaking fast, its presence during the Ramadhan dinner service was still inappropriate and insensitive to the religious context of the occasion. We have supported your Ramadhan buffet every year without issue. This is the first time the background music was so obvious and distinctly religious in nature. We are not being racist or questioning any faith; we fully respect all religions. However, respect must be mutual. We are not requesting zikir or Islamic songs. Neutral luxury hotel background music would have been entirely sufficient. May we respectfully ask what the purpose or rationale was for playing devotional chanting during buka puasa service? As a globally recognized luxury brand , a higher level of cultural awareness during religious observances is reasonably expected. I trust this matter will be reviewed seriously to prevent recurrence. Thank you for your attention.

We spent 4 nights at the Seaside Villa overlooking the water and thoroughly enjoyed our 1 room Villa with pool, huge bathroom and multiple sitting rooms. The staff is incredible, the service awesome and the food was very good. We ate at the Hai Yan restaurant and loved watching the shrimp boats go out.

We had the most incredible stay here. It was truly faultless from start to finish. Everything was perfect: the restaurants, the rooms, the service, the cleanliness, and the overall atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by Lea, who was so kind and made our check-in completely seamless. Our first dinner at Horizon was absolutely beautiful, and our waiter Julian made the evening unforgettable with his attentiveness and care. We’re already talking about when we can come back. It was such a special experience.

Lovely helpful staff that makes you feel like family - everyone asks for your name And they remember you ! Very impressive and “ it’s my pleasure “ attitude!!!
