The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi

Recently I stayed at Ritz Carlton Langkawi and I must say that this has been the absolute very best stay I have had so far at a Marriott property (and I stay at Marriott properties a lot, this is my 8th year being a Marriott Ambassador member). The resort is beautiful, rooms are spacious, and all the staff there are wonderful and they are always actively doing their best to enhance my stay. There are a few staff that I had more interactions with, that I would like to thank them for their exceptional hospitality. 1) Qayyum, he was the “guardian angel” for my stay. He was very friendly, amazing, attentive, and professional at the highest level. He made sure everything was great for me from check in until check out. I also enjoyed my time at Hai Yan restaurant, a great restaurant led by him and his team, because of their great service and the great food there, I visited Hai Yan almost every night for dinner! 2) Eric, a very knowledgeable bartender and he was very patient explaining the drinks and sharing information and knowledge, I loved my interaction with him. I look forward to tasting more drinks made by him in the future! 3) Jenie, she’s always very caring, she even remembered me from my last stay almost 3 years ago, and she always shared her happy vibe, just seeing her presence and smile made me happy! I look forward to going to Ritz Carlton Langkawi again and again!

Spent time here on my birthday, love everything about Ritz, from the hospitality, amenities, the room, the place soo beautiful and services top notch. You will never want to leave. And thank you for little treats for my birthday Ritz team!!

We had the most amazing experience during our stay. The resort is beautiful and the staff is so friendly. They made us feel extremely special and made our stay so memorable. Special mention to Adil, Mia, Chef Freddie, and Megha from the housekeeping team- thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality! We will definitely be back!

Our arrival at the hotel immediately set the standard for the rest of our stay. The striking of a large Gong and the delivery of fresh local tea and cool handcloths heralded our arrival at reception. The hotel is spread out amongst the edge of a tropical rain forest. There was always transport available around the site by a chauffer driven electric buggy, very useful in the steamy heat. We were escorted to our villa (above the beach) by our wonderful butler, Shuk, for check-in and introduction to our accommodation. Wow is the only word that springs to mind to describe what we found at our villa. Nothing was too much for the staff, and any requests were always met with a true desire to make the client happy. The minibar was filled with complimentary soft drinks , water and beers. A very nice touch. There are five different restaurants within the hotel and an expansive private dining menu (room service). We particularly loved the Langkawi Kitchen (the main restaurant for a daily sumptuous breakfast - more on that later and evening meals). We were sad not to be able to visit the Horizon restaurant which was closed for refurbishment. The food in all the restaurants was of an amazing quality and a fantastic standard. The Breakfast Buffet was unbelievable, with every sort of cuisine covered and freshly cooked in front of you. There were even complimentary espresso martini cocktails and Cremant available for breakfast. We have never seen such an amazing selection and range of offerings for a breakfast buffet. Six Stars no question! Housekeeping was amazing and visited three times a day to ensure everything was “tickity boo". The staff were so gracious and could not have done more for us. The beach was a dream come true; what a view , what a beach, all with reserved sun loungers for the villa guests [ no towels required ] right next to the Coco Beach Bar - truly Heaven ! We cannot find the words to say how wonderful our stay was at the property. The location, the villas, the facilities, and most of all the staff were superb. The only disappointments were relating to the infotainment system used by the hotel. There were over thirty TV channels on the system, but no list of channels - one had to go through each to see what was available within the resort . There was no programme guide so it was hard to find out what was showing without again going though each channel. The system was also used to display the restaurant menus (amongst other things), but one had to use a QR code and then view it on your tiny phone screen if no i pad available. Why not show the menus directly on the 52-inch screen ? Even then the menus displayed were not up to date on a couple of the restaurants, very frustrating. In conclusion, we would highly recommend the Ritz Carlton, a real Robinson Crusoe paradise. Thank you for the holiday of a lifetime.

My family and I spent 3 nights here. This hotel is a piece of heaven on Earth. Everything was personalized and catered to our needs. Thank you Mr. Aidil and team. We stayed in the beachfront villa and a rainforest room. The villa’s infinity pool is of a great size and the access to the beach is just what you need during your time off. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you again to all the team. Maha
