The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi

After exploring the vibrant street food of Malaysia, we decided to have lunch at the Ritz-Carlton in Langkawi, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the views were magnificent, and the lounge area was beautiful and relaxing. What made the experience even more special was the exceptional service. Jennie stood out with her outstanding customer service skills—she was attentive, warm, and genuinely pleasant. Her thoughtful service added so much joy to our luncheon. We truly appreciated her hospitality and look forward to visiting again.

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at the resort. Our suite was large and very well appointed. Without doubt the service was some of the best we have ever experienced during our world travels. Almost to the point of anticipating our plans before we had made them. A special shout out to 3 people. Gan Hing Min the quality manager who couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. I am pretty sure it would be impossible to allocate the same amount of time to other guests. He organised for me to visit the kitchen to perfect my roti technique and sent me the recipe for the signature sambal. I am eternally in debt. Second shout to Sara our 'butler' who was a breath of fresh air. Always smiling and the utmost professional. Finally, the young man in the attached photo who served us at The Chinese restaurant. We wanted to take him home with us. So why only 4 stars? We felt the food on offer didnt quite hit the mark for a hotel of this calibre. There was nothing particularly wrong with any meal it just lacked love. A few dishes were not hot and the plating could be better. I realise I am being a little harsh but my wife and I travel for food. Would we stay at The Ritz Carlton Langkawi again? Absolutely.

Our stay at the Ritz was magical. The views, the rooms, the pools, the sunsets. It's a stunning location and my wife and I had a very relaxing trip. In particular the service stood above and beyond, particularly from our "butler" Syed. His attention to detail was incredible and took our trip to the next level. And honestly, that extends to their entire thoughtful, focused, and International staff. Only downside is the food isn't consistently great, but that's usually the case with these resorts. Thanks Ritz staff!!

Stunning Resort, we were sad when we had to leave for our next travel step. The resort itself is located in the western part of the island, 5-10min carride close to the famous skybridge. There is a lot of rainforest in this area of the island and you will mostly need taxi/grab to move around the island which was not really an issue for us as we were primarly on Langkawi for relaxing and some excursions to nature. The resort offers access to a nice beach, but do not expect super soft sand such as on the maldives. We stayed one week at the 1 Bedroom grand ocean front Villa which offers a lot of space and comfort. This villa type comes with a butler service which was really great, big thanks to Sara and the team to make our stay so wonderful! The communication and services were always super fast and on point. Every day there was a little present and she always surprised us with some other lovely extras. Villa and pool were always kept super clean. The villa itself offered full private sphere with stunning nature all around and stunning view on the ocean. The environment was very quiet, mostly only hearing the waves, some birds and cicadas. We did rarely hear something from the neighbour villas. All the restaurants in the hotel (beach grill, horizon bar&restaurant, Hai Yan and Langkawi Kitchen) offered very good food and drinks, even though it may be mentioned that it is of course cheaper to go eat outside of the resort. For us however the whole atmosphere around and in these restaurants and bar were perfect. The whole resort has lots of nature to offer in terms of plants and animals. We were able to observe lots of animals such as Hornbills, Giant Squirrels, Asian Water Monitors Lizards and two different species of Monkeys and even once otter. All the animals could be observed without them coming too close as they are not being fed and still completely wild. For all people loving nature and excellent service we can fully recommend this Resort!
