Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a beautiful pool villa, which immediately made our holiday feel extra special. The resort itself is stunning, surrounded by lush rainforest with breathtaking views and a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. What truly made this stay unforgettable, however, was the incredible kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. Upon hearing that we were celebrating our daughter’s 5th birthday (from her), the team went above and beyond to make it a celebration we’ll always remember. One night we returned to our villa, and were greeted with a beautiful “Happy Birthday” banner, balloons, a delicious cake, and a handwritten note from the staff. Seeing our daughter’s excitement was priceless. On the day of our departure, the team surprised our children with special gift bags (even though they already gave them welcome gift bags containing coloring materials) these contained handmade gifts created by the staff themselves. The time, effort, and care that went into these gifts touched us deeply and made us feel so genuinely looked after. Another moment that perfectly captures the spirit of this resort was when the beach staff joined our children in building a sandcastle. It was such a simple gesture, yet something they were under absolutely no obligation to do. It was a beautiful example of the genuine warmth and hospitality that every staff member showed throughout our stay. Thank you for making our daughter’s birthday and our family holiday so incredibly special. We will cherish these memories for years to come and cannot wait to return.

Much of that came down to our butler, Sara, who is simply the finest I have encountered anywhere. The mark of a great butler is invisibility of effort: the sense that things have arranged themselves, that nothing needs asking because it has already been seen to. From arrival to departure, that was precisely the experience. Every detail anticipated, every preference remembered, nothing ever forced or fussed over. It is the rarest quality in hospitality, and Sara possesses it completely. The setting will bring people to the Ritz-Carlton Langkawi. Sara is what will bring them back. With our sincere thanks.

A friend insisted that the Ritz Carlton was the best resort to experience in Langkawi so despite a week previously at the Four Seasons, I decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary at the Ritz Carlton Langkawi. From the moment I clicked pay, I knew we were destined to have a magical experience. As the day approached, I got more and more excited and when we finally arrived, we were greeted by name, not just us adults, but my daughter included, served with ginger tea, refreshingly scented cold towels and Malaysian snacks. The first thing I noticed was the tiger, Mr Harimau, whom we were told was there to deter the resident monkeys. Without a growl, I wondered if the monkeys would be immune to stationary tigers by now? What was most touching for me was the heart of every single staff we encountered at the resort. Being highly intuitive, I felt that each and every service staff had only the best of intentions to serve us to the best of their capabilities. And delight us they did every single day and night! They were ALL warm and friendly with their own unique personalities and twists, which was so wonderful to be served by real people, not robots. EVERYONE was helpful, responsive, and paid us genuine attention. Every single request was met to perfection and truly, THIS is what customer service is all about. The resort gifted me a surprise bouquet of red roses for our 25th anniversary and as we were there for the week, I wanted to put them in a vase, hence requested for one. It was delivered, and flowers cut and arranged to brighten up my Villa for the week. I got a free florist as a beautiful gesture. When I asked who the supplier of X was because those X were out of this world, it appeared to be a local vendor who only supplied locally. What did the Ritz Carlton do? They packaged a whole bag of X for me to bring home. Like whatttt?!?!? We were SO HAPPY!! And when I asked for my 16 year old daughter to have a session with the local Marine Biologist since she was aiming to be one after college, they were open to have this happen; only that the teenager changed her mind preferring to enjoy her holiday in the sun instead. That night, we propped our telescope at our ample spaced pool deck to watch the stars. It was GLORIOUS. Villa 12 was perfect. To wake up to sunrise and waves was a dream come true what more with our very own private pool that faced the sea as an infinity pool. Our bed was luxuriously comfortable. Every single corner of the Villa was clean and I have very high cleanliness standards so it was a pleasant surprise! Well done, indeed!! The Villa was so impeccably maintained with very thoughtful touches upon welcome, with our ready made rose bath and a surprise dining spread as an anniversary welcome. Our bed upon arrival was designed and artfully decorated; truly a masterpiece. We did not do much around the resort because just hanging out at the Villa was enough to keep us very happy but what I did enjoy was the guasha massage which was incredible. I have been massaged regularly since I was 17 and have had massages all around the world and this was one of the best I had experienced. It was a whole 90 minutes of every knot being untied with the guasha moved by very intelligent hands that made my entire body feel SO LIGHT after. Pure effing bliss. Our Villa pool was very clean and the lush greenery that enveloped the resort gave us lots of oxygen to make our stay worth the money. Health is wealth after all. The breakfast spread was exceptional, with a wonderful mix of local flavours and international favourites and I particularly loved that we could order ala carte. Lobster omelette and teh halia with green juice, perfect! Plus the opportunity to try a new dish every single day…. I also noticed that wait staff would ask if we had any dietary restrictions at every meal. For most of us Malaysians, that probably wouldn’t mean much but for someone actually with dietary restrictions, it means the world, so thank you. It must be said that food options across the 4 restaurants were not as expansive as we would have liked on the menu, especially if you planned on staying for a week or more, you might request for the chef to cook you something else of which I am sure they would comply. For example, my daughter wanted good adult pizzas but we did not think then to request for it. Buggies were always fast and efficient and even when we decided to walk, the walks were so pleasant with ample landscaping, because yes, I do love my oxygen. The personalised message cards I received at each new venue I attended was such a delight, a personalised message from the heart, in writing at that, so I kept each and every one of them! Yes, it was the little surprises that truly delighted us. I do not want to share what we received in the whole week because that would only spoil it for you, but it did remind me how surprises are little touches of personalised care that has exceeded my expectation because with each hand delivered gift, is a heart behind it. Thank you, Aidil, our personal butler, for an extraordinary experience. As a luxury establishment, the level of service and attention to detail made every moment worthwhile for a wonderful 25th anniversary celebration. The place to visit if you’re looking for a luxurious jungle and beach experience. Amazing staff, very kind and great hospitality skills.

A very peaceful and beautiful 4 days passed in this amazing hotel which is set in a rainforest and beside the sea. The staff were so warm and helpful and anticipated our needs before we knew them ourselves. The food was amazing and we could recommend it highly enough
