We received a warm welcome and without exception the staff are delightful. The hotel feels very luxurious and our room was great with a fantastic view. However our stay, sadly, was let down by the food. Both Portofino and Oceana (not sure why it’s called a seafood restaurant as there’s very little seafood on the menu) served us dry, overcooked meals on more than one occasion. We eventually resorted to The World Cafe where the cooked to order food was faultless. My only other negative comment was the volume of the music at the pool bar which was just a bit too loud for conversation or to read a book.

Secrets is an excellent hotel in a great location Puerto Calero. Hotel food is good but there is also a number of good restaurants within walking distance.

Brilliant location and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel, particularly with the preferred status. The staff were brilliant and all joyous. They even helped with amperes ration I was forced to do whilst on holiday

This was our second visit within 12 months, and we left feeling a little underwhelmed this time. As before, we booked a swim-up room for the privacy it provides, but unfortunately, the room had a noticeable drain smell, which detracted from the experience. While the food throughout the resort was once again outstanding, service in some of the restaurants felt inconsistent compared to our previous stay. That said, many of the staff remain the hotel’s greatest asset — warm, courteous, and genuinely eager to please. Their efforts made a real difference to our stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights last week, the private transfer from the airport only takes about 20 minutes and the vehicle is a comfortable people carrier. On arrival I received a very warm welcome from hotel staff together with cold drinks and a cold towel at reception. I was allocated room 603 and other members of my family room 602, these are a few strides away from reception. Sadly on the first night my travelling companions were disturbed by a large party in the piano bar. The balconies also received some cooking smells from the restaurant which is directly below. This was raised with reception the next morning and by 3 o’clock we had all been re assigned to rooms in the 560-569 range much further away. The reception teamThese rooms have a slightly smaller balcony but are otherwise similar. These were more peaceful. On arrival we received a 30% discount in the World Cafe for evening meal. This was useful as we had not had time to arrange reservations elsewhere. We had elected the B&B option which gave opportunity to explore the excellent range of restaurants in Puerto Calero a short walk from the hotel. The food in the World Cafe is buffet style with a wide range of options. We ate breakfast at the World Cafe each morning and would advise an early start to have option of sitting in the outside area which is nice. Around 0900 a rush can build up and there can be a wait for seating. My primary purpose for visiting the hotel was to attend a diving course with Liquid Planet who are based on site. The course and service provided by Rafael Benet at Liquid Planet was superb. Not only did he provide excellent teaching and equipment his manner at all times was knowledgeable and polite. There was no hard sell and the location in the hotel made access to the pool for the early part of the course easy. With onsite air refills each of our four days diving proceeded without interruption. For off site dives it is only a short walk to and from the centre’s vehicle, important when moving heavy dive equipment. When finishing a dive we sometimes headed for the Pool bar for a drink and some snacks and these were of a good quality, I can recommend the Shrimp Poke Bowl for a light lunch before resuming diving. All of the hotel staff, reception, World Cafe, Pool Bar, ground staff and housekeeping were excellent and could not be more helpful. The guest services team made contact on our last day to offer a complimentary late checkout for our party meaning we could keep one room right up until the transport came to take us back to the airport. Stand out mentions to Rafael at Liquid Planet, the reception team and guest services. A great hotel for adults who want some quality time, and especially if you want to do some diving or dive courses.
