This was our second visit, although this time we upgraded to Preffered Club. This gives a choice of lunch restaurants plus an a la carte breakfast restaurant. In addition we received a bed turn down service. Even with the extra restaurants we still used the main buffet restaurant as the food was excellent. We did have problems but once we saw the customer service staff it was all sorted. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of cava and a cold towel, after the airport queue it was needed. A lovely lady took our cases and showed us to the room, she must have seen my face when I saw the coffee machine and went to get me a traditional kettle. Overall nothing was too much trouble.

Would not rate it 5* more like *** World Cafe was the buffet Restaurant more like a canteen. You couldn’t book restaurants but if you didn’t turn up at 7pm when they opened, you couldn’t get in. One night we tried all the restaurants at 8pm and we couldn’t get in any so ended up having no choice but to eat in the buffet, for the amount we paid for AI it was very disappointing. Too many people for the size of restaurants. Staff very apologetic. Not enough information, everything on the app but as WiFi wasn’t great due to weather the app wasn’t much use or always accessible. Overall very disappointing, won’t be returning.

Where do we begin.... Day 1. - Waited ages for luggage to be brought up to rooms - No luggage rack, but long ottoman in next door room - Waited ages for one to arrive 4pm - Can't find menu for pool bar which is open until 6pm - lounge opposite reception freezing due to doors on lower floor open ? - duvet too small for cover, what a mess - well, 8pm, sounds like murder on landing. Drunken 20yr old ish Irish bloke, surrounded by police and just taken away ! 5 star hotel ???

We stopped at Secrets Lanzarote 15-22 March 2026 in a sea view double in the Preferred Club on an all inclusive basis. Room The room was functional, TV was big and had lots of UK channels and Netflix. The bed was enormous (two doubles pushed together). There is plenty of closet space and drawers. The ocean/pool view from the balcony was great. Food Lunch and dinner at Oceanic were both tasty, they had a good selection on the menu & the quality of the food was good. I recommend the chicken burger or pastrami sandwich at lunch and the seabass at dinner. I think Oceanic was my favourite spot to eat. Dinner at Portofino - one night I had a penne arribeata which tasted like penne with Passata poured over it with a few slices of chilli to add a bit of heat - not good! Another night we shared a pizza as neither of us were that hungry and it was really good. The buffet had a good selection, with various fresh meat and fish cooked to order. I liked that it wasn’t a problem to customise meals in any of the restaurants, if certain dishes had things in them that I didn’t like. However, be prepared for lines at all of the restaurants, even if you get there before opening time (they open at 7pm) there’s a line. But the line does not move fast. That’s because the greeter also has to: scan your room card, write something down in a book, offer drinks, escort you to a table, give you menus and then walk back their greeter desk and repeat! If you have 10 or more couples in front you’re stood in line for ages while this process happens over and over. Why not have someone greet you and then someone else take you to your table etc, it’d speed the entire process up. Drinks Sadly drinks service isn’t the best. At the preferred club pool, if we were sat there for five or so hours, we’d get asked for drinks maybe two or three times maximum. But if you sat on the deck you got much more regular service. At the piano bar you can sit at the bar, but you can’t order drinks at the bar! You have to wait for a waiter to come take your order (very odd). Most of the time someone will come to you, but on some occasions we were missed. Entertainment They have regular activities available during the day on the app that you can book. We did the rifle shooting and cocktail making class which were fun. During the evening there is one act in the piano bar at 9:30pm that lasts about an hour. My biggest gripe about this hotel is the lack of places you can just hang out and have a drink in the evening. “Sugar Reef” bar looked abandoned when we were there. The preferred club bar closes at 6pm. The preferred club lounge closes at 7pm. And the outdoor patio bar space was a no go due to the weather during our stay. So you’re limited to the Piano bar which gets very busy, and like I mentioned it’s all waiter service, so it can take a while to get a drink. There is a sports bar that opens from 8pm but no one hardly uses it, so it has no atmosphere, which is a real shame as this would be a great spot to hangout. The hotel is missing a nice, centrally located bar (somewhere other than the piano bar) just to hang out and chat over a drink which would also take pressure off the piano bar. I think the sports bar should perhaps be promoted more so it’s busier, or even changed into a different venue that’d appeal to more people if the majority of the clientele don’t want to use it. Spa We had a 70min relaxation massage which was very good. They also threw in a free spa pass for the rest of our stay which was handy as the weather was stormy for a couple of days while we were there. Be sure to book a treatment before buying a pass so you don’t end up paying for the pass when you don’t need to. Overall For the amount I paid for the week I expected a bit more polished service from the Secrets brand. We’ve visited a property of theirs in Mexico where service was exemplary. I want to qualify that statement by saying the people who work at the Lanzarote resort do their absolute very best, they’re really friendly and helpful - no complaints there at all. I just think they need more staff to speed things up, and that’s down to senior management decisions - not the workers who run around to serve everyone.
