Attended a 4 day conference at this hotel. Primarily on the 3rd floor of the conference center in the Gracia area. Wow. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. The layout and spacing of the area is well done. I got a chance to got to one of the Bungalow rooms. Don't let the word Bungalow trip you up. The room is like a mini suite with a great view of the Bellagio Fountain. There were 2 other conference events taking place in the area and you would never have known it. If you walk from another hotel due to room rate concerns, you can easily walk to this hotel via the pedestrian bridges, and through malls, etc. This hotel has a nice walkway bridge to the Chrystal Shops mall.

The Cosmopolitan still delivers one of the best high-energy atmospheres in Las Vegas. Even after many visits over the past 10 to 15 years, my most recent stays reminded me why it remains such a draw. Places like the Chandelier Bar still give the property that signature buzz, and the sportsbook bar area is another standout, lively, social, and a great place to post up for drinks and games. It is still one of the most stylish and fun properties in Vegas for people who want energy and a real scene. At the same time, the rooms remain impressively quiet, so when you are ready to sleep, you actually can. The issue is that the property feels like it has been running on style and reputation for a little too long. The common areas and major bar areas have had the same look and art for literally 20 years since it has opened. The rooms are still comfortable and have the cool Cosmo identity, but they are now clearly dated, with wear and tear that is hard to ignore, e.g. stains, peeling wallpaper, and other signs of age. At over $600 a night for a suite, that starts to feel out of step with the experience, especially compared with a place like Encore. The standard city room is acceptable, but the larger balcony rooms are really what set Cosmo apart and are the only ones I would strongly recommend. The biggest letdown on my recent stays has been the pool situation. On one trip, the Boulevard Pool was closed the entire time, and on another, Marquee Pool was under major renovation and felt far from a luxury experience. When half the pool setup is unavailable and there are no major DJs, it is hard to justify $40 drinks and premium resort pricing. Overall, Cosmo still wins on energy, people-watching, and social atmosphere, but it is starting to show its age and needs meaningful updates to fully live up to the price. Taking 1-2 guys trips per year for over a decade we still enjoy the Cosmo, even the "old" bars and spend a lot of time there, but now are looking elsewhere as the experience has gotten really stale.
