About the Hotel

Twenty-six of the fifty largest hotels in the world are in Las Vegas. Why, then, is The Cromwell Las Vegas causing such a stir? Clocking in at just 188 rooms, it stands in the shadows of neighboring Bellagio, Caesars Palace and Bally’s. And that is exactly why it’s so appealing to guests seeking the intimate, refined experience of a boutique hotel right in the throbbing heart of the Vegas Strip. There’s a touch of a vintage bordello feel to the hotel, accentuated by leather headboards, vampy damask wallpaper and classic showgirl sketches.

Meh.

This hotel was just OK. The “strip view” window was tiny. No coffee supplied. Use of refrigerator cost extra. Floor had duct tape “fix” in one area. Ceiling in bathroom had weird rusty thing on it. Location was good, staff was ok. Vegas right now is a rip-off…won’t be back.

Very Disappointed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We are very disappointed with The Cromwell. We understand that it is currently under a management change, but that does not excuse the black floors that left blackness on the soles of our feet, or the black mold in the bathroom. There was NO COFFEE available without paying a significant price. We were told if we used the coffee in the room it would cost $10 per cup, and it would be better to go to the Starbucks in the casino – still very expensive. We specifically reserved a king bed room but only got two queen beds, which interfered with comfortable sleeping. The room was way too dark - not enough lighting, and no bed-side lamps. Once the light switch by the door was turned off the room was pitched into darkness. We used a flashlight to navigate to the bed. Oh, yes, and if someone was in the shower, the mirror was actually a two-way mirror, so if the room was dark while the light was on as you took a shower, you were giving the room a show. I found this to be very offensive. The Cromwell is a PetStay hotel, which means that they are accommodating for pets. When we checked in we asked where to walk our dog to pee, we were told - curtly – that the information was in the paperwork, which we read. There was no mention of a place to walk a dog. Two days later we stumbled upon a small dog park not 100 yards away. It was tucked between the Flamingo and the Cromwell. We tried to manage our own luggage, both at check-in and check-out, but were told sternly that they DO NOT "loan out" the luggage carts. They also did not have valet parking or any front door assistance. We were lucky that one bellman was willing to help us after we were parked to bring our luggage to us using one of the forbidden carts, all the while telling me that it was against the union rules to do so. Charming. We did dine at Giada's happily, but we did not gamble one cent in their casino. Why would we want to stay in this environment? Lisa Vanderpump - I hope you know what you are purchasing!

Classy Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I wanted to share that my sister and I received the best service from Natalie, a server in the casino, while playing slots on a recent trip. We visited twice during our short visit and Natalie remembered us, our drink choices and was very kind and pleasant. Thank you, Natalie!
