Reviews for Delano Las Vegas

Nice hotel

Stayed here for the first time since they changed from being the Delano. Upscale suite in a nice complex, Mandalay Bay, which has the best pool in Vegas. Gaming is on the more expensive end. Lots of good restaurant choices, and walking distance to Luxor and Excalibur. Price was good with a special. Good MGM option.

Lack of customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My family and I stayed at the W Hotel in Las Vegas for two nights, and unfortunately our check-in experience was very disappointing. We had two separate bookings (one under my name and one under my wife’s). The front desk staff insisted that both of us be present for the entire check-in process, even though we had young children with us. This policy felt unnecessarily rigid and inconsiderate. In addition, when we arrived, no room was ready. We were told only that we would get a room “sometime today,” but the staff could not provide any clear timeframe. After a long trip with kids, this lack of preparation and communication was very frustrating. We expected a higher level of service and flexibility from a W Hotel, but the check-in process left us with a very negative first impression.

Terrible

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Terrible- how can Marriott put W branding on such a terrible hotel is beyond me! Yes, I was fooled thinking W meant a quality/ luxury hotel - I was wrong. The bathroom smelled like pee and they claimed no other rooms to change to. Very dated room and bathroom. In addition, the street noise is incessant with honking. Couldn’t sleep at all. With so many choices in hotels in Vegas- there are many other luxurious resorts to stay at for the same price.

Not what it used to be...

Have been a patron of this hotel since it was The Hotel and later as The Delano (probably 6 different stays total). Have always had a pleasant experience which is why I keep coming back. This was the first time under the W. Let's just say I feel like there needs some serious TLC. A few things that made it feel less than. - Made a reservation for a comped room for my family of 4, was assigned an xx800 room next to the elevators (and yes we heard the cables running and humming through the walls) - Really small bathroom compared to what I've been given in the past. It had 1 vanity, a shower / bath combo (with a really cheap broken $6 target shower curtain), and the cold water lever was screwed on WAAY too tight, my daughter couldn't even turn it on without asking for help - There was a significant pool of water on the bathroom floor when we first walked in.....as if the shower curtain had been placed on the outside of the tub when the cleaner was doing her thing - The hard goods, furniture, and the doors need a good refresh, almost all of them had major dents and scratches. - The AC was working and on all day and night, but never really felt like the 70 that we set it to. I don't cart around a test thermometer, but I'm pretty sure it never got below 75 in the room. - The doors in our room were SUPER squeaky. Of course that can happen at any hotel, but ALL the doors squeaked, the bathroom doors, the bedroom door, even the front door. I mean, from my perspective, it would only take 1 maintenance person a couple hours to hit each room on a floor just spray some WD-40 on all the hinges..... again, the little things. Willing to give it one more try, then time to move onto something else, sadly.
