Reviews for Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Disappointing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We were expecting big things from FontaineBleau this past trip. We are huge fans of the Wynn/Encore and saw many reviews stating that FontaineBleau may be the new top resort on the strip. The property is large and beautiful. It boasts over 30 restaurants, a collection of shops, and event spaces. While the grounds are nice they, in my opinion, do not match up to the other resorts. The shops are limited and mostly not the types of shops you’d find in other resorts. The service was questionable (I’ll get to that later) and the overall experience was not what I’d expect from a top tier resort. The room was just ok but the finishes were sloppy and seemed rushed and there was noticeable wear and tear despite this being the youngest resort on the strip. The grounds were not nearly as well upkept as the other resorts we frequent (Wynn/Encore, Bellagio, Venetian/Palazzo) and we noticed a lot of trash, large piles of dust and dirt, and empty cans/bottles just laying around the hotel which you don’t see at other top tier resorts. Aside from that there were 2 main occurrences that left a poor impression on us and probably the reason we will not be back. The first: we booked a stay through new years and planned to watch the fireworks from the pool/iceskating rink level. The resort had advertised the event stating that there would be iceskating, hot chocolate, and bars followed by a New Year’s Eve firework show which we could watch from the “viewing deck”. We had called the resort ahead of time to see whether or not tickets were required to the even and were told that they would be as they would not be allowing anyone onto the viewing deck who did not have tickets. When the day of the event came it was raining so we decided to go back to the room until the viewing time for fireworks. When we returned we were not allowed back in and were told we needed to head to the next gate for entrance. After walking to the next gate we were again turned away and were told we needed to walk all the way around to the other side of the deck for entrance which we did. Upon arriving at the other side we were told by another worker that we had to go back the way we came, which we did, only to be told again that we needed to walk back around to the other side. At this point we were extremely frustrated as were a large crowed of people who were being told the same things. Finally we found a worker and had them lead us to where we needed to go which was an entirely different area than the other workers had told us to go to. As we entered the viewing area no one checked for tickets as they were apparently not needed despite having been told that they would be required for this event. There was no organization and none of the workers seemed to know what was going on. We had asked 3 different workers what time the fireworks started and got 3 different answers. This was poorly planned and executed. The “viewing area” was terrible as we were only on the 3rd floor which meant we had to look pretty much straight up to see the fireworks, however, because we were so low, once the smoke started building after the first few volleys you couldn’t really see anything after that. The whole experience was pretty terrible and showed the armature level of the resort. The second: we had booked multiple spa treatments while we were there over 2 days. After the first day I had asked to have the receipt emailed to me which I was told it was. It was not. On the second day I asked again to have the receipt from the first day emailed to me along with the second day. I was told at the beginning on the first day that the charges for the spa treatments included gratuity automatically, however, when I checked my receipt for the first day I was shocked to find the amount of gratuity that had been added. The total cost of the services for the day were $1,080. The gratuity added? $1620. How is the gratuity nearly $600 more than the services themselves? I had to call the spa and have them fix the charges. I was told it was an “accident” though I don’t know how you mistakenly charge someone over $1600 in gratuity for $1000 worth of services. What made it even more suspicious is that even after asking for my receipt the first day it was never sent. Everything from the event experience to the spa trying to rip us off to the interactions with many of the employees left a poor impression. When talking to many of the employees many of them came from other resorts on the strip. All they did was brag about how great FontaineBleau is and bash on the other resorts. I gave me the feeling likes they all had something to prove. I’ve never had similar experiences in the other resorts as those employees are focused on giving the customers the best experience they can regardless of what other resorts are doing. I honestly cannot fathom how this resort got a Michelin key as they are far below the level of the other luxury resorts on the strip. I have lost a lot of faith in the Michelin guide this year after trying some of the newly minted Michelin star restaurants that are extremely subpar compared to restaurants meeting the older standards of the guide. This resort is just another example of how far the guide has fallen and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that these stars and keys are now for sale and can just be bought. Overall I would not recommend this resort to anyone looking to a luxury experience in Las Vegas. They still have a long way to go. Customer service: 2/5 Amenities: 4/5 Rooms: 3/5 Comfort: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Total: 3.2 Rating Criteria: 1/5: Terrible, would not recommend 2/5: Not good but not the worst. Might be worth it depending on price and other factors. 3/5: Solid option. Average in this category for the area. 4/5: Above average and excels in this area. 5/5: Excellent, needs no improvement *Please keep in mind that the reviews posted here are based on personal experience which may differ from person to person based upon a multitude of factors (individual/specific workers, time of day, personal preferences, etc).

Exceeded Expectations on a Second Visit.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was my second time staying here. The first was a guys' trip and I loved it. This stay was with my wife, two teenage kids, mother and sister. I booked two rooms. The whole experience was fantastic. I love this hotel and will likely stay here the next time I come to Las Vegas. Prior to check-in I requested that both rooms be on a high floor and adjacent to each other. I also requested early check in at 11am. All three requests were answered. The front desk staff was outstanding, efficient and friendly. The whole staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. I wish I remembered names. But everyone was so nice. The room was very comfortable. The water pressure is a little low but I get it. It's a gigantic hotel and facility. The Tavern was excellent, as well as the sports book. We reserved a table for six in the Tavern for the Ohio State-Michigan game. It was awesome. Three servers were checking on us. Food was great. Service was fast and very attentive. The casino is very clean and nice. It is not smoky. We had dinner at Papi Steak and Washing Potato. Both places were very good with good service. Papi Steak is a little pricey for what you get but the atmosphere and wait staff was excellent. We had brunch at Vida. It was very good. Good service. We had morning coffee each day at Chez Bon Bon. Very good seasonal coffee drinks and a very friendly and efficient staff. The casino is massive so pay attention to where you are. The casino is very clean and the staff is friendly. I wish I had his name to give the proper shout out, but I met a security guard on the casino floor who was awesome. I brought my mother to Las Vegas for her 79th birthday. We were playing slots and I left her for a moment to visit the sports book. When I returned I could not find her. She moved to a different area of slots. When I finally found her, the security guard came up to me and said if I ever lose someone let security know and they will help. He was so nice and said he could relate as his own mom is a similar age. I wish I knew his name because he deserves a lot of kudos. I cannot wait to return.

A True Breath of Fresh Air in Vegas

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Fontainebleau Las Vegas feels like a literal breath of fresh air on the Strip. After staying in too many older Vegas hotels with dingy carpets, lingering smells, and nonstop noise, this place is a refreshing change. Everything feels new, clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are modern, spacious, and immaculate, and the entire property has a calm, upscale energy that’s rare in Vegas. No stale smells, no worn-out interiors—just fresh, polished luxury. It stands out immediately from the aging, often chaotic Strip hotels. If you’re looking for a modern Vegas experience that feels clean, quiet (by Vegas standards), and genuinely elevated, Fontainebleau delivers. Highly recommended. PS. They note that some rooms sleeps 3. Advisable to ask for twin bed instead of king. Can get bit cramped for 3.

Great newish hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was my first stay here, although I did do a self-tour of the public spaces in 2024. Back then, I thought the place looked unfinished; it had just opened a few months prior in December 2023. Now it is more settled in, although some areas still look stark, like the escalator area one passes to get from the reception area to the guest elevators. I was overall impressed, however, with the service, dining, and the room. Good first impressions when I arrived and the valet opened the door to my rideshare car and unloaded the luggage. I had paid for early check-in, which was granted just past 9am. I was, however, given a room on the lowest (3rd) floor with a lesser northern view, perhaps because I was only staying one night. The view from the room was mostly of the casino's rooftop, but beyond that I could see the Stratosphere, the Sahara, Ahern Hotel , and a glimpse of the famous Golden Steer Steakhouse. My room was the least expensive Bleu room, but I found it well-equipped and fairly spacious, with much light from the full wall of windows. The wall art installations were unique, fun and 3-D. I was impressed how everything was branded with the Fontainebleu name or its bowtie-like logo. I was right next to the ice machine room, but noise was not an issue during my stay, I think because occupancy was on the low side that night. I would see there was a big crowd of conventioneers checking in the next day. Fontainebleu's dining/lounge options are pretty expansive, located on the 1st and 2nd levels. I personally tried KYU and La Fontaine, both reviewed separately. Mother Wolf seemed very busy, but I've been to their original Los Angeles location. In the future, I'd like to try Don's Prime (steakhouse), Chyna Club, Washing Potato, and Vida (breakfast-lunch). The pool area was closed for the season (although over the holidays there was an ice rink), except for one small pool tucked away in the corner. I have seen the pool area in the past, and it looked impressive, especially the poolside restaurant Le Cote. Of course there is a club, LIV, also closed for the season. Fontainebleu's location on the northern edge of the Strip puts it away from the Strip's epicentre, but the Sahara, Circus Circus, Resorts World, even the Wynn, are walkable. Overall a very nice stay. I can't speak for the casino since I'm not a gambler.

A stupendous hotel with stupendous service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This "much younger cousin" of the Fontainebleau in Miami is absolutely stupendous. The Collins lobby bar was truly one of the coziest bars I have ever been in, without any exception. The hotel was delightfully decorated, the layout was well-thought-out, the staff were extremely friendly. The VIDA restaurant downstairs had terrific breakfasts, and the other restaurants had imaginative, truly delicious cuisine. The only thing is that the Chez Bon Bon pastry shop, although it had a lot of breads/cookies, had an extremely small selection of pastries compared to its "brother" in Miami. That was disappointing, but that was literally the only item we could single out, even if we tried to be overly critical. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!
