Don't book here

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, things started going wrong and they just kept piling up. On the first day, both the shower and the sinks in the room were clogged, which made even basic things like getting ready incredibly frustrating. My friends had booked the room through a third-party site and arrived about four hours before I did. For some reason, the hotel refused to add their names to the reservation, which meant they were forced to wait around even though we had already paid for the room. I have never heard of a hotel refusing to add additional names to a reservation before. The pool situation was another disaster. The hours are supposedly from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but that’s only if they don’t decide to close early for a “special event,” which happened while I was there. When the pool is open, seating is extremely limited, and once the chairs are taken, staff won’t allow anyone to sit or even lay down on the ground. The bigger issue is that people claim chairs by putting towels on them and then disappear for hours. When I went down, there were only four people actually in the pool but 33 chairs were “reserved” with towels. The posted rules say no glass is allowed in the pool area, which is fair, so I brought a plastic water bottle. I was still told I couldn’t have it with me in the pool area, which made absolutely no sense. The room itself had some of the strangest bathroom doors I have ever seen. Instead of a normal door, it’s this massive sliding door on rollers that never actually closes. There are huge gaps on both sides, so there is basically zero privacy. At one point, a guest services agent knocked and then opened the front door while I was in the bathroom, and because the door doesn’t close properly they got an unintended view. It was beyond uncomfortable. Security and communication were also confusing and inefficient. To get to the elevator, you have to show your room key to a security guard who just asks, “Where is it?” and then you immediately have to use the same key again to activate the elevator. It feels completely redundant. The hotel also has a chat feature where you can send requests. You enter your name and room number when you start the conversation, but every time you ask something they ask for your name and room number again. Even when you continue the same chat thread and make another request, they ask for all the information again. To make matters worse, construction started either above our room or right next to it at 7:00 in the morning. It sounded like sanding or grinding and was loud enough to wake us up immediately. After all of this, I tried to speak with management about the issues, but I was told they were on break and not available. After everything that happened, it honestly felt like no one at the hotel cared to help or even listen. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. Between the maintenance problems, the confusing policies, the lack of communication, and the general lack of concern from staff, it made what should have been a relaxing stay incredibly frustrating. I would not stay here again. Since I have already gone to management to air my grievances, I would rather them not contact me now that I wrote about this experience. I already gave them the chance to make it better.

Great and affordable hotel

Customer service was great. Location was perfect and we were able to access the Monorail to get to our pool tournament at the westgate. Also being close to the monorail we were able to go to the strip when we had free time. Loved that the rooms per night we cheaper and free parking is a plus also.

Experience Vegas life in a beautiful hotel without all the noise and crowds.

This is our 3rd year visiting the Sahara in Vegas, and this year's trip did not disappoint. The service is top-notch throughout this hotel from the front desk, to the housekeeping staff who freshens your room and towels every day and keeps your room looking and feeling super clean and fresh if you choose, to every staff member you walk past including those that just man security points by the pool and drop off areas. We had dinner at the Balla Italian Restaurant as well, and it was spectacular. The atmosphere is casual, yet elegant in the sense that you are going to receive a 5-star experience from the moment you are seated until you are leaving. The ambience is somewhat bustling and lively with tasteful music playing throughout. Our server, Daniela, was "the best of the best." She was professional in every way, yet also had just the right amount of friendliness without being intrusive. I started with a French Martini, which was perfectly mixed. My husband had the prosciutto & burrata, which was delicious and plenty for two to share. For dinner, I had the filet and my husband had the Chicken Marsala and both dishes were superb. We split the whipped potatoes with garlic and cheese, also excellent for a side. I had the chocolate tarte for dessert, which was a spectacular ending to a perfect dining night. If you happen to be here on a Friday or Saturday night, you can also attend the Dualling Pianos show for free, which we did attend. This is not a classical piano concert, but rather a fun, lively, and entertaining sing along to popular songs that everyone loves with opportunities to make requests. The Sahara is just big enough to do everything you come to Vegas to do, but it's not loud and the crowd tends to be more for adults vs. young children, although you will see some young children. They do have an amazing 21 and over pool, but note that it is not open until March, so until then, you would use their rooftop pool area, which is open to all and includes a heated pool. We love this hotel and can always get a good hotel package deal when we come here. You won't be disappointed.

Exceptional service and stat at Sahara Hotel

I was truly amazed with check in staff. Jane was exceptional with helping me extend my stay. She was kind and very helpful. The cleaning staff was amazing and kept our towels clean daily and made our beds. It was a lovely stay from beginning to end. The staff works really hard with all the accommodations. Loved having water in our room daily as well. I will definitely be back. My favorite hotel.

A good budget stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It was a good experience overall, the check-in process was smooth, wasn't much crowded on a sunday evening. the Alexndria Iconic king room was spacious enough. but the cloth/wallpaper on the walls were disappointing. it looked dated and worn out. the city view was good from the 23rd floor, Casinos and restaurants were good too. You get free parking, whether you're staying at the hotel or not, its at the north end of the Strip, convenient enough to commute since the Deuce stop is right infront of the casino (other side of the road). and its 8$ per person per day for 24 hrs.. which is good. would recommend a stay here, since its cheaper than the other alternatives like Bellagio or Caesars or Venetian. I chose this over the Strat and I'm happy with my decision.
