W Las Vegas

The construction noise was awful. I heard beeping of trucks during the night, almost every time in the lobby a saw or tile being excavated, etc. It took 45 minutes to check in as a Platinum Elite because the lobby was relocated. We waited on average 7-10 minutes for the elevator. Seriously - cut the capacity in half and make real concessions.

As with everything in vegas it is huge! We stayed 3 nights as a family with a 19 and 16year old. It is at one end of the strip and coupled with the Mandalay and shares their vast pool area, which are fantastic, but quite a walk from the W rooms, and drinks are expensive once you’re out there. The rooms are really nice, we had a suite so a nice separate sitting area and another bathroom. Sadly we didn’t get our room cleaned once during our stay, 1st day they came too early and the 2nd day they didn’t clean it. I felt that it really let itself down by not supplying free coffee that you can make it your room. It was $16 to make it yourself in a paper cup!!! You can of course get a lift down the 30+ flights (you might be 60+) and get complimentary coffee in the hotel lobby coffee shop, but it would have been nice to not have bothered. Other than that the communal areas were nice, staff nice. Try and see if you can check in on the app, if check in is busy, it is a bit of a long wait to be seen at the desk. There is a tram from the W/Mandalay which takes you a couple of stops down the strip which certainly helps when the weather is 45c!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was extremely disappointing and did not meet the standards I expected from a W Hotel. The biggest issue was the complete lack of responsiveness. We repeatedly called the front desk and guest services from our room, and no one answered the phone. It was very frustrating, especially when we needed assistance. Our room also had several maintenance issues. The hair dryer was broken, and the refrigerator was not functioning properly. These are basic amenities that should be checked before guests arrive. Overall, the hotel felt poorly managed, and the level of service was far below what I would expect from a Marriott property in this price range. While the staff we encountered in person were polite, the lack of communication and unresolved room issues made our stay unnecessarily stressful. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves both maintenance and guest service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here again

Title: Not What I Expected from the W I chose the W Las Vegas expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately this stay fell short. The biggest frustration was that I was never informed the hotel was undergoing major lobby construction. The noise was constant and made the lobby an unpleasant place to spend any time. Had I known about the construction before arriving, I would have booked another hotel. To make matters worse, one elevator bank was closed. Getting to our room required waiting about 15 minutes for an elevator, transferring at the spa level, and then waiting another 15 minutes for a second elevator. I understand that renovations are sometimes necessary, but guests should be notified in advance so they can make an informed decision. The lack of communication, combined with the elevator delays, significantly impacted what should have been an enjoyable stay. For a W property, I expected much better.
