My first trip to Las Vegas and the hotel stay left me feeling . As someone who has traveled all over the world, I found this property completely lacking in value, convenience, and basic hospitality. I was here for a business conference and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a seamless stay. Here is a breakdown of why this resort failed to meet basic international hotel standards: Confusing Navigation: The check-in counter was incredibly difficult to locate upon arrival. Furthermore, signage for the tram was either completely hidden or non-existent, making the massive property frustrating to navigate. Exorbitant Resort Fees: I was forced to pay a hefty daily resort fee despite not using a single amenity. I did not utilize housekeeping during my stay, making this feel like an empty, mandatory surcharge. Pay-to-Play Pool? I completely avoided the pool area because I feared guests are expected to pay extra just to utilize basic sections of it. Outrageous Minibar Pricing: While the room itself was comfortable, the minibar is a financial trap. Do not touch anything inside the fridge—they charge $18 for a single bottle of water and $20+ for every other item. Nickel-and-Diming: Unlike almost every other reputable hotel globally, this property charges extra for basic in-room coffee and tea. Heavy Smoke: The casino floor was completely filled with cigarette smokers, making it highly unpleasant to walk through to get to the conference spaces. I understand the reason they force you to walk through the casino just to get anywhere, but the smoking there caused severe allergies and my clothes smelled nasty. While the room itself provided a comfortable environment once inside, the constant hidden fees and poorly designed layout mean this location is simply not worth the added costs.

Good: Room was VERY clean and nice. The week we stayed was surprisingly affordable Bad: Staff was rude, there were always lines and if you could ask a question about something the Staff was short and seemingly annoyed. Checking in was terrible. No complimentary coffee _ teas in rooms - you have to pay for everything. The pool area was so crowded and over ran with other people it was really hard to enjoy, you need to get there real early to get a chair if you want to sit.

THE WORST HOTEL STAY WE HAVE EVER HAD!! (Avoid ALL MGM Properties at all costs!) I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the W Las Vegas. From the moment we checked in, the experience was frustrating. When we entered our room, there was diarrhea all over the toilet. It was obvious the bathroom had not been properly cleaned before we were given the room. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as a luxury property. To make matters worse, guest services were virtually impossible to reach. We called multiple times throughout our stay at different times of the day, and no one ever answered the phone. It was incredibly frustrating to have no way to get assistance without going downstairs. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was to enjoy the W pool. Before our stay, we were assured that all of the pools would be open. However, when we arrived at the pool area, we discovered the W pool was closed with no prior notice. Had we been informed in advance, we would have planned our day very differently instead of wasting time heading down there expecting to use the amenities we were promised. As an apology, we were given a restaurant voucher for the inconvenience, but when we tried to use it, we were unable to do so. Offering compensation that can't actually be redeemed only added to the frustration. Overall, this stay fell far below the standard I expected from the W and MGM brand. Between the unsanitary room, lack of responsiveness from guest services, inaccurate information about amenities, and unusable compensation, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. I cannot recommend staying here based on our experience.

Hotel is beautiful, it even smells good. Rooms are large and kept clean with daily housekeeping offered. I liked that your key card would only allow you to get off on your floor. It is on the far end off the strip, but since it is connected to the Mandalay Bay, you can ride the tram to get a little closer down.
