Angleterre & Residence Hotel

How can a hotel take bookings and not alert customers to the changes to check in and breakfast? Also to send people to a sister hotel that is so snooty with your guests. There is no way I would consider staying at the Beau-Rivage Palace now either. Really disappointing from a hotel that I have stayed at regularly, as do my colleagues.

I was extremely disappointed with our stay. For a supposedly luxury experience we got snooty service with the exception of one friendly female receptionist who checked us in. First we showed up with our bikes, this hotel is not bike friendly, the main reception building was closed so we had to go to the palace hotel, where people treated us like we were lesser just because we had bike bags and bike clothing. There was no message or warning on booking that we had to check into the other reception until we wrote them after we had been walking around for 30 minutes. Nobody helped us with our bags. We had to just leave our bikes in the open in the garage on the first level, nobody showed us where or offered a secure place. It did not feel secure. This was different than what was communicated to me when I wrote before booking. I do not recommend it is not worth the price, sorry to say. The rooms are not sound proof and you can hear every noise in the other rooms. Ochy is beautiful and the restaurant L'Accademia is phenomenal excellent food and drink, its just a shame the hotel is subpar.

Having stayed here many many times, I'm hugely disappointed by the lack of communications about the building work and my treatment at Beau-Rivage. Arrived late at night, having not been told that there was building work. Usually an email comes just before arrival asking for your ETA. Luckily a colleague alerted me. Check in was terrible. Kept waiting by the only check in person as he seemed to be more focused on escorting another guest than leaving that to the concierge. Check in was rude and condescending - not what I would have expected of a regular customer. I was not told that breakfast location was at the beau rivage and was expected to walk in the dark to the Angletere with little information. All in all not the reception I have come to expect. Now, needing to book again there is no longer an ability to have breakfast included in my hotel. I will not be booking again, which is a shame.

Arrived late at night. Nobody to help take me to the room and it’s hard to see the map at night struggling with luggage alone. Then a huge walk back to the breakfast. Not a pleasant experience - avoid until work done.

Incredible hotel. The room was beautiful and i was astonished with the bathroom!!! I will come back for sure.
