The St Regis Mauritius is like a movie that starts slow and builds up a crescendo, ending at the pinnacle and staying there. We were thoroughly satisfied with most aspects of our stay and the leadership group made sure the issues we were unsatisfied with were attended to promptly. There were hiccups at check-in, with our status not identified. There were hiccups with pre arrival communication. But I guess some of these could be put down to there being a recent change of brand to St Regis. One of best part of your stay is the involvement of senior staff, at restaurants, check-in, spa, and more. Smitesh, Benot and more make sure there are active on the floor, attending to any issues if needed. The butler service, as noted by some reviewers can be a hit and miss. You don’t get the same butler but we found that by the end, we were happy with the team, particularly with the WhatsApp communication. The property is great. Massive! Absolute quality! The only issue was that there is only a single narrow path to the rooms though. This is also where the buggies travel, so the walk is far from peaceful and with many interruptions to allow vehicles to pass through. The kids club had good potential but we found staff to be lacklustre on occasions. There is much to do for kids though, and they won’t be bored. Older kids can make use of the excellent drawing room with a pool table, table tennis table and other activities. Games are organised but there did not seem to be active guest involvement. Breakfast spread is massive and quality very good. We were very impressed. One of the best we have had. Flexibility of staff to accommodate requests was unparalleled. Indya had great service and decent food. At Floating market, the service was unusually poor. Orders missed, incorrect billing, delays, all that was made up however, by the excellent food. The spa was great, and I say this after having had about 500 or so treatments before! The gym was good and we loved the tennis lessons! The beach was superb, with free drinks, coconuts and more! Overall, a brilliant property with hands on management staff, all of which makes us want to return in the future!

From the moment you enter through the stately black gates, you already know you are in for a wonderful moment of your life. St. Regis managed to combine the old plantation style architecture effortless with the striking black volcanic rock of Mauritius. I loved my room with the high exposed wood beam ceilings, and the elegant room had every amenity you can think of and even those you never knew you needed. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, it creates the ultimate sense for rest and relaxation The quirky black and white tiles combined with elegant, contemporary furniture is really one of its kind on the island, in the main areas. And then where to start with the food, from The Boathouse that offers fresh Mediterranean flavours with s stunning view of the calm coral encrusted beach, to Chef Malik’s exciting Indian food at Indya, which he tweaks deliciously with a modern twist. Do not miss anyone of the several gourmand experiences in the various restaurants. St. Regis offer something for everyone, various kinds of watersports, activities and relaxing pampering sessions in the spa, The St. Regis Library with Conservatory, La Palme d’Or Private Cinema, Boutique and the Drawing Room/Entertainment Room provide further leisure opportunities. They really do cater for all ages and energy levels. Make sure you experience the Bloody Mary Ritual, The L’Île Mary, with its Creole influences before you leave and do take the obligatory selfie on the world-famous wooden staircase inspired by the Grand Staircase of the Titanic. This awe-inspiring resort set with the dramatic backdrop of the UNESCO-mountain Le Morne, do offer something for everyone!

Fantastic location. Beautiful property spread along a pristine beach. Traditional architecture with beach houses. At least five restaurants to choose from, food was delicious. Bulter service and all staff exceptionally friendly.
