We recently returned to Paradis Beachcomber after a three-year break and were so happy to find the high standards mostly intact. What really stands out here is the genuine kindness of the staff; from the moment you arrive, you feel truly looked after. The Highlights: • Kids' Club: A massive thank you to Sharon and her team. They are 10/10 and the reason our kids love it here so much. • Dining: The food is delicious! The variety at the main buffet is incredible, and the pastry team deserves a special mention—their work is excellent. The new Indian restaurant at Dinarobin is also absolutely gorgeous. • Nautical Center: The best way to enjoy the bay for sailing and skiing. The only downside was the golf. In most golf-centric resorts, green fees are complimentary for guests, but here they are an extra cost. The golf carts are overpriced (almost double other courses) and basic amenities like water or towels weren't provided. The most ridiculous part? If you are a Mauritian resident and a guest of the hotel (paying for your stay), the green fee is actually more expensive. This policy feels very unfair to local residents who are loyal supporters of the hotel. Verdict: 10/10 , but the golf management could definitely learn from the high hospitality standards found elsewhere !

We had the most incredible stay truly 10/10 in every way. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and so comfortable. The food was outstanding, with so much variety and everything absolutely delicious. The setting is pure paradise with breathtaking views, pristine beaches, and total relaxation. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

After having visited Beachcomber Paradis on a number of occasions some years ago, previously with young/teenage children, my wife and I decided to return by ourselves. We had extremely fond memories of the resort, and wanted to see what had changed. Firstly, and totally our own fault, we happened to be meeting friends off of a cruise and it coincided with the Uk half term holidays. That said, what was previously a 90% British clientele, was now 90% French (their school holidays covering most of February and into March). So as you would then expect, the hotel was absolutely full of children. Thank goodness for The sister hotel Beachcomber Dinarohin, but more on that later. Check in was smooth, unfortunately our room wasn’t available , but your are able to take advantage of all the inclusive benefits from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave, so we headed to lunch. Our room a Junior suite was set in a horseshoe and close to the pool and restaurants. Nice large clean room with a great balcony and lovely view. Not the most modern room , but it had a certain Mauritian charm about it. Whilst the resort is sprawling over a vast area, including the 18 hole golf course, the main pool is not very big by comparison. In fact our main complaint about the resort would be that the pool is no longer sufficient to cater for the number of rooms. Since our last visit the restaurants have been redesigned and upgraded, but they now line the pool, this leaves a lot less space round it. So particularly at breakfast and dinner, there were people splashing in the pool and children running around very close to where you were eating. This was particularly annoying in the evenings, when parents seem to find it ok if there children were off there hands but interfering with others having dinner. Restaurants - Brabant - the main buffet is good, but situated right by the pool and can be noisy. Food was Ok, we had high hopes for the Chinese new year buffet, but it disappointed. Blue Marlin - it’s their fine dining option, we never ate there in the evening as the menu did not suit us. Lunch had a good selection though. Zest - situated along the path overlooking the beach. The best setting of the 3 restaurants by the hotel. Food and service was excellent for lunch and dinner. La Ravanne - only open in the evenings and situated right on the beach about 800 yards from the main hotel area. You are transported by golf buggy or you can walk. Quiet setting and good food. The service was excellent, maybe the food came a little too quickly though. Mainly seafood. In view of the large number of children at Beachcomber Paradis, we took advantage of the option to use the facilities at their sister hotel Dinarobin. You can use the pool and beach area as well as all the restaurants there. It’s much more set up for couples and we found it a tranquil environment (most of the time). The main pool is huge, although for some reason it only had 12 Sunbeds round it? But luckily we managed to get the same 2 every day of our holiday, even turning up at 11am on one day. Golf buggy transport is laid on in both directions between the hotels and they run on the hour and every 15 minutes. They were always reliable and leave spot on time. The 3 main restaurants at Dinarobin are Harmonie - Main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner - calmer than Brabant and we found the service and food to be better. Rangoli - Indian restaurant - stunning interior design , excellent service and lovely tasty food, probably our favourite. Unami - modern Japanese restaurant - again a lovely setting , portions are huge, so much so we had the starters and cancelled our main courses! They do a la carte and also a 6 or 10 course taster menu ( good luck with those) . Additionally there is a lunch/ afternoon restaurant, which is a 3-4 walk on the beach. A stunning setting and food was great, be warned it does get busy and there’s often a wait for a table. No need for shoes here as it’s right on the sand. There was nightly entertainment at both hotels, Beachcomber Paradis quite often seemed like a children’s disco, due to the number of families staying, whereas the Dinarobins was slightly more refined and upmarket. The Acapella group playing on one evening were amazing. We didn’t take advantage of the Spa, tennis, bikes or water sports, but I did play golf twice, very reasonable price for hotel guests 1,500 rupees green fee ( £25 ) and 1,750 rupees for the buggy (£30). The course is very pretty and weaves through the palm trees and lagoon at the front of the resort, well worth playing. They also run snorkeling and glass bottom boat trips from both hotels twice a day. Please be aware you cannot borrow snorkeling equipment unless you are on the daily organised trips, there is however decent snorkeling just offshore if you bring your own googles and mask. The all inclusive covers all the restaurants and bars, some only open at dinner. They all have it clearly marked if a dish or drinks are an extra charge or inclusive. You do have to sign for every meal and drink, but if you are on the all inclusive plan it’s always shown as zero. One thing that I believe the hotel need to address is something we found out by chance. When signing your bill, there’s always a tip box to complete (or not). It says at the bottom that all tips are distributed between all the staff, which we thought was great. However, we were made aware that it only applies to staff that are from Mauritius, you can tell those that aren’t as all the non Mauritian staff wear black trousers and white shirts. I believe this is an unfair policy as they all work equally hard. We stayed for 12 nights and had a fabulous time, to be honest we wouldn’t return to Beachcomber Paradis, I think our children having grown up means it doesn’t suit us, but we would return to and recommend Beachcomber Dinarobin without hesitation.

The team is fantastic, starting at the welcome, at restaurants, bars or at the golf club. The quality of the meals is even a step higher than last year. On top, we had a very nice weather!
