Timbers Kauai

Timbers Kauai is the jewel of the Timbers collection. The location on the water coupled with the outstanding service, top to bottom, makes it a first class choice. The restaurant is one of the best, if not the best, on Kauai. The golf course is amazing with the longest ocean front yardage anywhere in Hawaii. The residences are well equipped and spotless. Lots of aloha!

Our room Kaiholo (3102) the best room on property by the way- was cleaned perfectly every day, and the entire staff was truly outstanding - everyone was so friendly and welcoming including the grounds team. We enjoyed Tina at the Hualani's restaurant- tremendously! Our concierge, Robyn was absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful with all our bookings. We were traveling with our elderly parents ages 88 and 89 years old, and my mom uses a walker. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We golfed with our parents one day (just my husband and father) myself and my mom rode along, and Uncle Ricky, Juan and all the guys were so nice. One of them even helped my mom out of our vehicle and into the golf cart and attached her walker to the back of the cart! It truly was an amazing 2 weeks for all of us and especially my parents who thought that they could never return to there favorite island :)

The resort is amazing! Amazing views and amazing facilities. However, the most amazing of all is the staff. Genuine hospitality at its best.

We were met by the host with cold towels and juice but we were not invited to the neighboring lounge that made it embarrassing to wipe sweat in front of everyone. Our host did not include a complete tour, just comments along the way to our room. For example, we were told that we could order food and drinks using a QR code at the tables. It doesn’t exist. We were told there was a grill at the pool. It turns out that it was a pool toy depot only. We were told there were electric bikes available. It turns out it’s for owners only. Our sea view room was pool chairs and bushes, no view. The seaside Infinity pool had a sign that said ”Owners and Their Registered Guests Only”. So no resort experience there. We ordered food in advance to stock our refrigerator including 3 six packs of water. We receive 3 cases of water and we left two full cases when we departed. About on-third of our order was not fulfilled. The restaurant was a highlight. Great sea food and we ate there 5 times. There was also great musical entertainment. It’s weird, not once did a manager ask about our experience. It’s definitely not a Michelin star experience. The best part was going off the resort including golf. The golf staff was wonderful. We chose Timbers to determine if we should invest as owners given the reciprocal world wide opportunities. It’s not very refined.

Timbers met all our expeditions but…. I Knew it was near the airport. Quieter than I thought it would be. I knew there would not be a good beach nearby. The one beach walking distance, kalapaki, is not great considering how long it took you to get here. Otherwise, the Timbers is nice, staff courteous and restaurant is outstanding. Rooms and amenities are also great. We played golf at ocean, which is fine. Great layout and views but not in great shape. It is a nice alternative to a large resort. Much quieter and is def high end.
