In Lisbon for an extended period to visit family around Christmas, I chose to stay at the Altis Belem hotel because of its location on the River Tagus. Every morning a delicious breakfast was included, with a buffet of fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats, and bread and pastries, including both traditional Portuguese custard and croissants. One could order eggs any style, including eggs benedict. The bar looked out over the river and supplied drinks and food (snacks and more). A sumptuous Christmas Eve dinner for guests was truly memorable. My spacious room with a comfortable bed and both tub and shower overlooked the marina. All in all, a fine experience. The staff, most of whom spoke excellent English, were accommodating and friendly throughout my stay.

This hotel offers a calm and refreshing atmosphere only steps away from the bustling Lisbon waterfront. The rooms are very comfortable and most can offer a view of all the activity on the river. On this visit, I was in special need of help because my luggage disappeared in transit from the U.S. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, giving me expert advice about how to replace clothing and other essentials, arranging for a ride to the best store for this purpose, and coaching me on how to obtain a significant discount on what I bought.

Whilst we didn't stay at this hotel, whilst visiting Belem we popped in for a coffee. We were made very welcome and were accommodated at travelling vegans. Very smart restaurant area and the toilets were really beautiful. Id love to stay in the future.

Highly recommend this great hotel on the waterfront just off the beaten path of town center. We walked or used scooters to enjoy the breeze and sunsets every night. Such a walkable city! Great staff! Great food. Beautiful rooftop pool. Easy to get to from airport.

Stayed here 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Located just by the Tagus river. Excellent location to explore Belém Tower, the monastery etc. The 15e tram is within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious and having it outside in the morning is amazing.
