Excellent & freindly welcome on arrival. Nothing too much trouble. History and a tour on route to our room, plenty of useful information. Excellent continual service to the rooms and cleaning was faultless. The wide ranging breakfast was delightful. And the walk through the gardens to the pool was a great pleasure. To name a few Andre to greet you at the door, Rita and Rita Breakfast and restuarant and reception staff very helpfull. Would definately go again. Diana & Peter

Our stay at this beautiful palace did not begin well unfortunately. Upon arrival after a long flight we were greeted at the stairs of the entrance and our luggage taken and left at the top of the outdoor stairs. We were assured that the staff would bring to our room. Checked in and escorted to our room as it was quite a maze to find it and given a brief tour. We tipped him generously and were assured our luggage would be brought. We had a tour scheduled and I needed some items from my bags. Over an hour later and still no luggage. We had to leave for our tour so I stopped at the desk to inquire of our luggage. The clerk said he would find out. When we went to the front entrance to get our Uber ride, were shocked to see our luggage still sitting outside were it was left unattended. Very unacceptable and surprising at a 5 star hotel this would be happening. Not to mention that we had valuable items left completely unattended and not delivered promptly to our room as promised. On the positive, the palace and gardens are gorgeous. I enjoyed using the indoor pool/spa area and exploring the beautiful gardens. The breakfast included had a wonderful selection of options and the servers were friendly and accommodating. Our room was compact but comfortable. The housekeeping was not always consistent, at times garbage; empty bottles and dirty dishes not removed from our room upon cleaning. Daily complementary water bottles not always provided on our 3 night stay and had to ask. The staff was always polite and responded quickly to remedy. Overall the palace is a beautiful place to stay in Lisbon, but a few details lacking.

We ended our two week Portugal trip with four days stay at Pestana Palace. Blown away by the attentive staff and delicious breakfasts. The grounds are stunning. I loved their swimming pools. Too cold for outside when we were there, but the inside pool was warm and fabulous. I so enjoyed coming back there after a long day's sightseeing with all the crowds in downtown Lisbon. The hotel is situated in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. Our room had a view of a house opposite with their clay tennis court. Very luxurious. The interiors of the hotel are incredible. I loved sitting in one of their many drawing rooms and just reading listening to the live piano from the bar. Our actual room was in a newer wing and it was small. But apart from that it was fine. The only negative thing I have to say is we had afternoon tea there on our last day and it was a HUGE disappointment. The worst afternoon tea I've ever had in my life. So do not order it! Dry, stale sandwiches with very little filling and burned rock hard scones. Inedible. And NO petit fours. I was so upset but luckily they did not charge us. I was surprised because the breakfasts were FANTASTIC! And they had a cake table with all sorts of wonderful sweets. But apart from the tea we had a brilliant time there.

The hotel is amazing—truly a work of art. Every member of the staff was excellent and incredibly helpful, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Our room was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered an incredible variety of delicious options. We honestly can’t wait to return!

An amazing hotel, stunning gardens, surrounded by History. It looks like an urban resort because of the feeling you have of relaxation despite being in the middle of the city of Lisbon. All staff are wonderful and do everything to make your stay very pleasant.
