Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

I have a Diamond status with ALL Accor and have stayed in 13 Sofitel around the world. I had this week my worst commercial experience ever with this hotel brand. In 2020, I had booked a room at the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade. Because of COVID and travel restrictions, I had to cancel and received a credit voucher (1,151 euro) only valid for 1 year. I live in Florida and don’t travel to Lisbon very often. In 2021, I was considering a short trip to Lisbon and asked the hotel if they could offer a discount even if the voucher had expired. They never replied. Early July 2026, I contacted them again as I will be in Lisbon 5 days en of July and needed 2 rooms. Cost of the reservation 2,900 euro… Of course, they didn’t reply to my email. I had to send a reminder after 3 days. After numerous emails, they offered an upgrade to a slightly larger room and a discount of 50 euro … to compensate the 1,151 euro lost before. Ridiculous and very disappointing. No commercial acumen AT ALL. Like I did, book another hotel! They are not well rated anyway.

Rooms are not that big but not cramped either. Bathroom is very cramped. Diptique amenities but not that great. Some staff are nice and friendly. Some behave like they don’t want anything to do with you. Breakfast spread is tiny. As a vegetarian, for that price i would skip breakfast. Gold member welcome drinks not provided. I’ll not bother booking this Sofitel again. Sofitel around the world is better than this.

The reception staff was amazing and provided over the top customer service. Thank you! The hotel location is convenient from the airport and central to Lisbon. Within walking distance to many attractions. Comfortable accommodations. I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed there for 3 nights and it was very pleasant. The rooms are nice and quiet, the breakfast excellent, the amenities are great too, with coffeemaker, minibar, slippers, chocolates at night, you name it. Bot what stands out is staff. Everybody is very helpful and polite and ready to help. Special thanks are due to our lovely receptionist Victoria who helped us to choose the right room, explained many things about the city and booked a great nearby restaurant for an excellent dinner. This treatment does call for coming back! Thanks a lot!
