Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

Not a luxury hotel. Rather, more like a 3-star with high hopes. Check-in: Officious, not gracious. Little to no information about manuevering through the hotel, local sites, etc. Lots of suits, few workers: I had to fetch my own luggage from check-in. The front desk does not answer the phone. The room: The wood trim is battered and bashed, showing poor maintenance. Furniture was dusty and superficially cleaned; the chairs had tears in the fabric. When the matter was brought to management, the response was that all the rooms are the same, and we can send someone to review the housekeeping. No one was dispatched. Little storage area available to place clothes for a several-day stay. We had to live out of our suitcases/cubes. No iron in the room. View of the mezzanine roof; felt like we were assigned the maid's quarters.

Nice hotel at a convenient central location. The hotel itself was smaller than expected and the rooms not very large, but the bed was comfortable and had everything you need. The service was good and the buffet breakfast excellent. The staff was friendly and very helpfull.

Back to My Favourite Address in Lisbon After my first stay at Sofitel Lisbon, I enjoyed it enough to return, this time bringing my sister here during her very first trip to Europe. It felt nice to introduce her to Lisbon while staying at one of my favourite addresses in the city. Another lovely stay, with an excellent location that makes exploring Lisbon very convenient. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection and quality. The one area that could make the experience even better would be the service. While everything was handled efficiently, a little more warmth, personalisation and genuine engagement would have elevated the stay, particularly for returning guests. Still an address I enjoy and one we will certainly come back to again.

Location of the hotel is great, u can walk almost everywhere. There are a lot of restaurants and bars close to it. Service, reception and concierge were great. We had suite, nice view, specious room and comfortable bed. Room was old style but nice. There is kids corner in hotel, quite nice.

The location was perfect, all staff very gentle and efficient. The breakfast was the best! Rooms very comfortable. André from the front door was amazing. We had a great time in Lisbon!
