Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

Luxury! Sophication and great location!! Sofitel truly made our experience in Lisbon unforgettable. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the best service in a luxurious setting. The hotel is short walk away from the city centre. No need for public transport or taxi. The staff were amazing!! A HUGE thank you to Andrea our concierge. He was so helpful in many ways. He made us feel very like VIP guests and offered so much great help with any questions we had. He always went above and beyond and we truly appreciated that gesture. He took the time to engage with us and made us feel very welcomed. Another shout out to Paulo our barman. He too was very engaging, had great communication skills and was so helpful. Again, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you guys for making our trip unforgettable.

Excellent location, with friendly and courteous staff who made our stay truly special. A special thank you to Thomas, who went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday memorable. He arranged a restaurant reservation for us and even organised a surprise birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our room had a beautiful view, was exceptionally clean, and was completely soundproof, making it very comfortable and peaceful. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we felt the hotel offered excellent value for money. The staff’s attention to detail and warm hospitality made our stay truly memorable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again!

Not a luxury hotel. Rather, more like a 3-star with high hopes. Check-in: Officious, not gracious. Little to no information about manuevering through the hotel, local sites, etc. Lots of suits, few workers: I had to fetch my own luggage from check-in. The front desk does not answer the phone. The room: The wood trim is battered and bashed, showing poor maintenance. Furniture was dusty and superficially cleaned; the chairs had tears in the fabric. When the matter was brought to management, the response was that all the rooms are the same, and we can send someone to review the housekeeping. No one was dispatched. Little storage area available to place clothes for a several-day stay. We had to live out of our suitcases/cubes. No iron in the room. View of the mezzanine roof; felt like we were assigned the maid's quarters.

Nice hotel at a convenient central location. The hotel itself was smaller than expected and the rooms not very large, but the bed was comfortable and had everything you need. The service was good and the buffet breakfast excellent. The staff was friendly and very helpfull.

Back to My Favourite Address in Lisbon After my first stay at Sofitel Lisbon, I enjoyed it enough to return, this time bringing my sister here during her very first trip to Europe. It felt nice to introduce her to Lisbon while staying at one of my favourite addresses in the city. Another lovely stay, with an excellent location that makes exploring Lisbon very convenient. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection and quality. The one area that could make the experience even better would be the service. While everything was handled efficiently, a little more warmth, personalisation and genuine engagement would have elevated the stay, particularly for returning guests. Still an address I enjoy and one we will certainly come back to again.
