On a positive note, staff was very friendly and helpful. I was underwhelmed with the hotel overall and the room specifically. Outdated decor, shower just didn’t feel clean, usb ports weren’t working etc. Not the “5 Star” experience I expected.

We had an excellent stay. Good welcome, good room, very comfortable bed, breakfast and dinner were excellent. Bar was great place to drink Cocktails - friendly bar staff. Opposite a metro station closed at the weekend (at least in Winter), but only a short walk to the next stop.

This was our second stay at the Lisbon Sofitel (first was several years ago prior to renovation) and it was a lovely experience. Prior to arrival we arranged for airport transportation and I inquired about the fitness room facilities and the communication was smooth and responsive. We arrived early and our room was not ready so we left our luggage and went out for breakfast. There are decent options for both casual and more formal drinks and eats nearby. Location is also convenient for the major sights. We returned around noon and the room was ready and even though we were told we were upgraded as a gold ALL member, the room was a bit small, albeit very nice. Maybe because we were on the 7th floor, that was considered an upgrade? Bed was comfortable as most Sofitel beds are. Bathroom was small as well, but the Dyptique amenities are nice. There was a decent size mini bar that could hold our own provisions when emptied out. The blackout curtains were solid so much so that we didn’t wake up until close to 8 am each day (we’re normally early risers). Didn’t hear much street noise even though we were facing Avenida de Liberdade. The fitness rooms (yes, plural) are in the lower level. One room was the cardio equipment- treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike. All functional. The other was weight equipment. Both had water fountains and at least the one with cardio equipment had a fridge with Gatorade type water. I was pleased. Everyone was friendly and efficient, and loved our welcome drink that came with my favorite Japanese peanuts and other goodies at the lobby bar. We ate them very quickly and the bartender insisted on refilling them. And the welcome amenity was a pair of pasteis de nata- yum. The only one quirk was that turndown service was inconsistent- we stayed four nights and we got it twice. That said, it was really just slippers by the bed and extra chamomile tea. Had it been chocolates, I might’ve complained :) It was a nice stay and I would stay here again and highly recommend.

Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade is very well located and has the core elements of a comfortable stay, but it doesn’t consistently deliver a luxury experience across the board. If you’re after location, amazing breakfast and friendly staff, it’s a solid choice. If you expect top-tier luxury for the price, you might feel underwhelmed. I’m diamond member off “All Accor” but didn’t feel it during stay.

I had the most helpful and friendly staff assisting me at the reception and the breakfast room. Room was excellent and breakfast buffet too.
