Reviews for The Wigwam

Not a good experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our stay was not good. When we arrived, we couldnt find the front desk. We walked the parking lot for over 20 minutes before calling again to find where to go. Even then, we had to have the valet guy show up where check in was as the door is tucked deep behind bushes on the side of the building. We were able to check in easily once we did find it, and the front desk gal was nice. She gave us a map and showed us where everything was. When we got to our room, we were immediately hit with a gross smell- it smelled moldy/musty in the room, and it was extremely unpleasant. I called the front desk to report the odor, and wasn’t offered a solution, so I asked for deodorizer from housekeeping to spray the room. They said they’d send someone. We sat there and waited, and waited, and waited. No one ever showed up and I started getting a headache from the smell, so I called the desk and requested deoderizer again and asked her to have them put it outside our door because we had to leave because the smell was making me sick. We went and grabbed a bite to eat at the grill. Unfortunately even that was not the best as the fries came out cold, there was trash on the floor by our table, and the table was being held up by wedged paper because it was off balanced. Not something you’d expect to see at a resort. We went back to the room after eating and found an almost empty can of deodorizer by the door. I got a couple sprays out of it, but not much. It helped temporarily but we decided to go out for the day. We got back to the room around 10pm so we could use the pool for an hour before bed, and it smelled horrible again. I called the front desk and requested spray again. Rooom service called me and said they had a shortage of deoderizer but would look for some. They came by with more spray. We used the pool for 45 mins and came back and the smell still penetraded through the room spray, so we decided to just check out. We spend maybe 1 hour total there :( my husbands bday was ruined so we just checked out and left. The family pool smelled like an old public pool, had trash all around it, no attendants on duty ensuring the cleanliness of the area, and the water just had a murky look to it. I felt like I had a film on me from just dipping my feet in, I wouldn’t go in any further.

Good family experience

We just went to Phoenix to go to a five seconds of summer concert for my daughter‘s 13th birthday. We had a wonderful experience at thewigwam and everyone was super friendly. I called ahead of time to reserve a room as close to the pool as possible as I just recently tore my Achilles and they placed us at the nearest property to the Pool possible. Everyone was very nice and extremely professional.

Great adult pool, but not enough food choices anywhere on the property. Very limited gift shop and ice machines were inconvenient.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa. The facility was beautiful, the staff courteous and helpful, and the rooms spacious. My husband, an avid golfer, enjoyed the courses right on the property. My vacation routine included hours relaxing, reading and people-watching at the lovely pool. The right prescription for a busy couple in need of some R&R!
