With palatial accommodations steeped in Southern tradition, the Capital Hotel has earned its renown as "the front porch of Little Rock." Its grand opening in 1870 was indeed grand, with the first electric light fixture installed in a hotel in the South and an elevator massive enough to carry a horse. Since then, this Arkansas institution, a Preferred Boutique property, part of the Preferred Hotel Group, has served as both a welcome respite with luxurious rooms and delectable cuisine and a doorway to the illustrious historic monuments and dynamic contemporary culture of the region for business and leisure travelers alike. Ninety-four lavish rooms, including 15 semi-suites and four suites, envelope guests with designer linens, free Wi-Fi and, from most windows, expansive views of downtown Little Rock. Dine on-site in the elegant Ashley's restaurant or socialize with the city's movers and shakers at the Capital Bar and Grill. Both feature Chef Lee Richardson's "New Americana Cuisine," menus handcrafted from local and seasonal ingredients with cutting-edge techniques.

A beautiful downtown hotel. Elegant lobby and friendly staff. Our room was well appointed and clean. Ride the elevator even if you are on the 2nd floor. It is huge! We could have had a party in it!

Classy, upscale and beautifully decorated. Reminds of the grand hotels in NYC ! Only stayed 1 night, unfortunately. But we highly recommend .

We enjoyed our stay at the Capital Hotel. The valet parking was quick and efficient, the bar served good cocktails, and the one restaurant that was open had good breakfast and evening meal service. Our room was immaculate and very classy—comfortable beds, nice towels, and housekeeping brought water for us daily which was nice, as it was very hot during our stay in Little Rock. The Lobby is absolutely gorgeous and a great place to sit and enjoy a cocktail. We were a little disappointed that the Bar and Grill were closed during our stay and also the gift shop was closed—apparently it is only open during the holidays which seems odd. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the hotel.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE from booking, check-in and dining. Matthew was an extraordinary help with interests and things to do. He was courteous, kind and knowledgeable. Tammy at check-in was exceptional. She went above and beyond to settle us in. The guest rooms are GORGEOUS. Elegant. 18’ ceilings. Fine linens. It was PERFECTION.

The Capital Hotel is really nice. The hotel and staff are excellent! Had a small water issue when I got to my room and they sent Chandler to fix it. I was very impressed with his timeliness and professionalism. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area with great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. I will be coming back!
