Sage Lodge

Sage Lodge is a beautiful property that raises the bar on rustic nature accommodations. Coming from national park accommodations, this Lodge was a welcome change of pace that allowed us to relax and luxuriate a bit more. However, if Sage Lodge is your main destination and you are looking for a ranch style accommodation where you can enjoy a large property with ample outdoor activities, you might be disappointed. While they own thousands of acres of land, only a small portion is usable by guests. Activities are limited by how many guides are available, and there is no set weekly schedule. This requires careful planning with the concierge and hoping that the guides are not booked by other guests for similar activities. Unlike other larger properties that have a published weekly schedule of activities, this system seems a bit more inconsistent and can be confusing since certain guides are only available for certain types of activities. The property could also benefit from a quick grab n' go breakfast cafe. For now, the only options are a boxed breakfast to go, or a sit down meal at the restaurant.

We stayed for a few short nights, but the staff treated us like family and gave wonderful care to our dog. The mountain views are breathtaking from every angle. The lodge even helped us book a local photographer for family portraits, and the pictures turned out stunning. Thank you for the memories.

Our group of friends stayed at Sage Lodge in July for 4–5 days, and it was truly one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever taken. First off, the service was absolutely exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable. No request ever felt too small, and everyone went above and beyond with a smile. The property itself is breathtaking. The lodge is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and perfectly nestled in one of the most stunning landscapes Montana has to offer. Waking up to those mountain views each morning never got old. What really made the trip special were all of the amenities and activities. There was so much to do, from outdoor adventures to relaxing around the lodge, and everything was thoughtfully organized and incredibly fun. It struck the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation, making it easy to create unforgettable memories with friends. We left with incredible stories, amazing photos, and already talking about when we can come back. Sage Lodge exceeded every expectation and made for an adventure I’ll never forget. I highly recommend Sage Lodge to anyone looking for an unforgettable Montana getaway. Every single one of my friends felt the same way—we can’t wait to return!

This place does not at all meet the standards of the hefty price tag. Reception s less than prepared and the rooms are average except the saving grace of the porch. I guess one of paying for the location and the view but you would be better served staying in a town like Bozeman.

We had a wonderful experience at the Sage Lodge. The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The location was excellent for beautiful views, peace and tranquility. Gardiner was 30 minutes away.There are plenty of shops and restaurants there. The north entrance to Yellowstone was about 40 minutes away. The room was clean and comfortable with stunning Mountain View’s. There are nice trails on the property. We enjoyed several Meals on site. We highly recommend the Sage Lodge.
