Great hotel

Stayed here before we began our cycling trip. Great hotel with really good service and a spectacular roof top restaurant. We had breakfasts and dinner here and everything was excellent!!

Three nights in Ljubljana

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Location is a 5. Five to ten minutes walk to all the well known landmarks. Atmosphere is great. The front staffs are amazing and so helpful when checking in. Made all my reservations with a smile. The room is a 5. So spacious, clean, and great view of the city. Value is a 5. If I come back to Ljubljana, definitely will book the intercontinental again.

Terrible Customer Service at the Serenity Spa

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this experience truly warrants one. I booked this spa as a birthday surprise for my mother, expecting a relaxing and high-quality experience given the reputation and pricing. Instead, it was deeply disappointing and honestly quite embarrassing as the person who organised it. Upon arrival, we discovered that the hot tub, one of the main reasons we chose this spa, was out of service due to construction. This was not communicated in advance. Even worse, the construction area was left fully exposed, which completely ruined the atmosphere you would expect from a luxury spa. I have photos of this, along with other issues. In addition, the Turkish bath was not functioning properly and remained at room temperature, making it effectively unusable. Considering how small the spa is, having both of these facilities unavailable or not working properly significantly impacted the overall experience. The robes were also in very poor condition, worn, torn, and completely below standard. These details matter, especially at this price point. After the visit, I contacted the spa expecting a professional and reasonable response. Instead, the communication was extremely dismissive with their excuse being that if you don’t complain in person your issues basically no longer matter. I requested a partial refund of €60, which I felt was fair given the circumstances. After 3 emails explaining the situation, they offered €20 on a €170 package (which included spa access, a 40-minute massage). This was not only inadequate, it was honestly quite insulting. The General Manager, Elizaveta Romanova, maintained this position throughout, with little acknowledgement of the overall impact of our experience. Her tone and handling of the situation were just as disappointing as the visit itself. I have visited many spas and have never once experienced anything like this level of disregard for customer experience or resolution, especially from the general manager. It is genuinely shocking for a spa with this reputation. I hope that in the future the spa places more value on its customers and perhaps appoints or trains management that takes customer experience more seriously. I would strongly advise others to reconsider, especially if booking for a special occasion.

ruined by a hard bed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Worst bed I’ve ever slept on. We received a nice upgrade to a suite. Dinner was amazing. Breakfast was solid. Room was beautiful. Employees were friendly and helpful. But these beds are awful. The equivalent of sleeping on the floor. I’ve never slept on such a poor quality mattress. Shame for a five star hotel.

a little crowded, but still a good choice

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The dinner was superb! Breakfast however, was crowded and noisy. The Executive/Club Lounge had great snacks, a nice view, and a friendly host - I only wish they could serve breakfast there, as well. The entryway isn't great (crowded and not ornate) and the 3 elevators are sometimes too full to get on at crowded times. But other than that, everything was wonderful. Really nice staff, and our room was large and had good furnishings for work and relaxing. I happily recommend this IHG hotel.
