The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok

A beautiful resort, with rooms spread out nicely, plenty of greenery & trees surrounding them. The breakfasts are amazing, so much variety & all cooked fresh to order. Lots of amenities included to keep the active entertained. The staff are so attentive, always smiling & the level of customer service offered is second to none. The spa was another highlight, Ketuk who gave me three massages whilst here was exceptional, some of the best massages I’ve experienced. We did a half day boat trip to the Gili Isles which was fun & saw lots of beautiful fish & turtles. If anyone is considering a relaxing holiday with exceptional service, I would highly recommend the Oberoi Lombok

We had a one week stay at the Oberoi Lombok and the fact that I’m taking the time to write this review is testament to their exceptional service. Right from the moment you check in to the time you depart, the level of service is incredible. I have to mention the food quality and taste- for every meal that we had from breakfast to dinner - was amazing. We tried different cuisines from local Indonesian to Indian to International; I have to say this has been one of the best kitchens we have experienced across most of the South East Asian resorts. The staff are so attentive and always there to help you with anything you need. Kids loved their stay and the warm attitude of the staff made it even more memorable. They have an amazing beach club that provides facilities for snorkelling and diving if you wish to. All top notch! I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

Absolutely impeccable service in a stunning location. It’s rare that you can stay at a resort for 5 days and cannot find a single criticism or way they could improve. This resort is in a most beautiful location and is immaculately maintained, but most importantly you are looked after by the most professional and friendly staff. They have the exquisite attention to detail make you feel as if you are the most treasured guest. This high level of service is not limited to just one or two individuals but is shown by everyone working at the hotel. The staff make a point of introducing themselves by name and I will try to mention a few here as a thank you for making our stay so pleasant. The hotel is 1hr 20 mins from the airport on Lombok. However the hotel transfer service uses excellent English speaking taxi drivers with clean air conditioned modern cars. We were met at the airport by Ariv who told us all about Lombok. It’s culture and economy. The time went quickly and we were provided with water and snacks. The return journey was equally smooth with a different taxi driver called Jodi. It was his first day and he was brilliant. The arrival greeting included a refreshing drink and they make sure all the personal and booking details are correct. Every member of staff is professional courteous and put you at ease. Check out is equally smooth. In particularly Ozi was delightful when helping us. The food at the hotel is superb. Freshly prepared with healthy ingredients. We opted for breakfast and dinner at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food on offer. We tended to choose local Indonesian and Indian dishes but European dishes are also available and made to the highest standards. The BBQ on the beach was a highlight. An army of helpers move the restaurant onto the beach where the chefs cook the fresh fish and meat on the grill in-front off you. The heads of the restaurant is Andini. She is always present, remembering the details of every guest and runs the restaurant with little fuss and no drama. This surely can only be achieved because the staff are so well trained and know what to do with little instruction. We were looked after at meal times by many members of staff and all of them were delightful. In particular Nazir must be mentioned because he was so professional and yet welcoming all the time. He remembered details about us, what we preferred to drink, where we were from and his English was first class. Others who made our meal times perfect were Iras, Zila, Adi, Dini and Roy. There were many others and if they read this review I apologise for not remembering names. Afternoon tea is served at 4pm and is a lovely way to meet other guests and take a break from the warmth of the day. The service was run by Desi (I hope I’ve remembered her name correctly). Again the warmest welcome and they will cater for any food intolerances such as gluten or dairy free. The cakes offered are a treat and make this such a pleasant experience. Snorkelling and diving around the Gili islands is very special. The water is clear, the coral is stunning and the animal life is fascinating. Leesan is one of the diving instructors. Very experienced and very caring. He is particularly attentive to families with young children. For a child it is like swimming with the cast of the film “Finding Nemo”, clown fish, turtles and numerous other species. For divers the centre can organise more adventurous trips that may include more numerous gatherings of turtles and even white tipped sharks if you are so inclined. The spa at the Oberoi is a calm relaying environment and as you might expect the staff can offer the very best Indonesian treatments. Balinese massage, facials, manicures. Something for everyone. Be warned that if you ask for a strong massage it is very deep and finds knots that you didn’t know you had. Normally the level of service we received can only be experienced by paying a very high rate. However, whilst the Oberoi is not cheap, we felt we received excellent value for money and will hopefully return when we next want to visit Indonesia.

An incredible experience. The grounds are stunning, the staff attentive and friendly and the rooms, spa and hotel boutique is beautiful.

We had an incredible stay at the Oberoi Lombok with our young family. The service was absolutely outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, even with our two little ones in tow! They handled everything with great care and no complaints, which was so reassuring. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was impressive—even down to keeping our charging cables neat and tidy. The drinks from the bar were fantastic, and all the activities we had planned were timely and well-organized. The concierge was extremely helpful, keeping us updated and making everything smooth. And the snorkeling trips to the Gili Islands were a definite highlight! We can’t recommend the Oberoi Lombok enough. We’ll definitely be back!
