Tucked away on a tree-lined court between Harrods and Sloane Square, Eleven Cadogan Gardens was the first of London's private luxury town house hotels. This refined boutique property, which occupies four stately Victorian houses, maintains a very English and understated style in traditional wood-paneled guestrooms hung with oil paintings and furnished with antiques. Here you'll cross into a unique atmosphere, where a butler discreetly meets you at the door, and instead of registering, you're invited to sign a leather-bound visitors' book.

I went to the Cadogan on the 8th December for an afternoon tea. The Ivy had messed up with my reservation, and denied me access with a very unfriendly attitude, so I tried the Cadogan, where I found a much warmer welcome. I have to thank Jaynab for having been so kind and having made me feel at home. The drawing room of the Cadogan is just lovely, elegant, with a lit fireplace and beautifully furnished. The Afternoon Tea was very good and tasty, overall it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Three ladies from the great state of Tennessee came to London to see the Christmas decorations and also celebrate a retirement. We LOVED our stay. Two of us were in the 2BR/2BA apartment, and one had a small room at the hotel proper. The apartment is around the corner from the hotel but is managed and serviced with the same level of hospitality as the hotel rooms. The apartment gave us space to relax (in our fluffy white bathrobes) after we had eaten all the eats and drank all the drinks and "Christmased" all day long. Location is divine. Easy walk to tube station and multiple bus stops. Groceries, restaurants, bars, shopping - all close by. We visited the small shops at Pavilion Road (pedestrian street behind the hotel) and bought cheese, crackers, cookies, breads, meats, and bottles of wine for the evenings if we didn't go out. Apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet and overall lovely. Any time we needed extra towels, or a trash pickup (someone kept leaving empty wine bottles in the kitchen ??), we just called for service. We ate a few times at Hans restaurant and enjoyed to food and also the lovely wait staff. The concierge staff - James and Michael - are superb. They provided recommendations for dining. Note: If there is a restaurant you really want to visit, make your reservation in advance. This was the Christmas season, and on one weeknight we went to four different restaurants before we could find a table. As there were plenty of opportunities for a quick cocktail at the bar, we didn't mind the search. This location is my favorite neighborhood I've stayed in of the four I've experienced. I prefer to have a quieter location to return to in the evening as opposed to the hustle/bustle areas we visited. We used the tube, buses, Uber (car and boat). taxi, and lots of walking. I walked to Battersea Power Station (30 minute lovely walk) and took an Uber boat to Greenwich and back for a day. Great views and a respite of peace.

Have been staying at 11 Cadagon Gardens for years. The location is perfect, but much more important the staff are the best anywhere

I hadn’t been back since 2002. The hotel needs a serious facelift. Not only because their bathrooms in the smaller rooms are not worthy of the name bathroom. The seem more like a small closet with a tiny sink and something that resembles the WC a small aircraft. Less than 2 square meters. We were given a different room larger a better bathroom and a small a very uncomfortable bed. But the cherry on top of this disappointing cake is the restaurant. Hans Grill. Unfriendly incompetent staff. Take for ages for you to get seated even on a slow day. Service is running around but not doing much. My last day at the hotel: 10 mins to get someone to sit me. After that 30 mins an after waving, asking, calling even begging for service I felt transparent. When a left I complained to the manager (or someone who appeared to be the manager) and she looked at me and simply left. Looks like the clients that come from outside the hotel seem to have precedence over the clients of the hotel. The head concierge is grumpy and unfriendly. Other members of the staff competent and warm. But it doesn’t compensate the bad experiences. I won’t be coming back. For this price you have far better hotels in the city, even heritage properties that are light years ahead of this one. The Knightsbridge hotel for example, probably the best small heritage property in that part of the city. Not to mention the Nobu where we recently stayed and was absolutely superb.
