Tucked away on a tree-lined court between Harrods and Sloane Square, Eleven Cadogan Gardens was the first of London's private luxury town house hotels. This refined boutique property, which occupies four stately Victorian houses, maintains a very English and understated style in traditional wood-paneled guestrooms hung with oil paintings and furnished with antiques. Here you'll cross into a unique atmosphere, where a butler discreetly meets you at the door, and instead of registering, you're invited to sign a leather-bound visitors' book.

Marcelo was the kindest and super welcoming. We’ll definitely come back again. Super recommended. The food was very good and I’ll say very healthy.

We just came back from a lovely trip to London, stayed in few hotels but this one is different. The staff is great, location perfect. We celebrated special occasion and we were treated with a bottle of champagne on arrival. Such great start! We enjoyed exploring London and getting good rest in Chelsea. Highly recommended !

I don’t typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to share our experience due to how far below expectations this hotel fell—especially considering it carries the Relais & Châteaux name. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this property was not up to standard. The entrance is dark and uninviting, and the elevator—when functioning—is incredibly inconvenient. At one point during our stay, it was completely out of service. We were placed on the third floor and had to walk up and down multiple times. While we are young and mobile, I can’t imagine how frustrating this would be for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. Cleanliness was another major concern. The carpets were stained, the chairs in the room visibly dirty, and there was painting happening just outside our window, adding noise and disruption. Housekeeping seemed to overlook basic details. The bathroom in our suite was extremely cramped, with barely any room to place toiletries—despite the suite being marketed as spacious. In reality, much of the listed square footage is simply a long, impractical hallway. Service was unreliable. Phones for room service or the concierge were often left unanswered. When we did manage to reach someone, follow-through was inconsistent at best. This hotel seems to rely solely on its location to justify the price, because nothing else—from the cleanliness to the service to the amenities—matches the rate being charged. Having stayed at several Relais & Châteaux properties around the world, this was by far the most disappointing and frankly, an embarrassment to the brand. We will not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this property to others. I took the time to write this as my first public review, which should say something in itself

Great experience, shame it was too short. I really liked the style of the hotel, very traditional. I only spent few days but ate in the restaurant and food was great, enjoyed my room with amazing view. Nice, clean and tidy. Special mention to reception, everyone I interacted with was very helpful.

What a shame, such a let down this time. Having stayed here and at the Townhouse a few times, we came again only to find the hotel critically understaffed, and subsequently service really poor. No turndown service. Bathroom ludicrously hot but took ages to get handiman, and he was unable to fix it. Room teas and coffees not refreshed, and had to phone desk, visit desk, then another hour later call room service to refresh. Room service not answering half the time. When room service came, salad was missing dressing and had to ask for it brought up. Took ages to get ice bucket to room. Noone staffing bar area downstairs so had to wander into restaurant to get service there. In short, not a 5 star experience at all, and blatantly due to understaffing in key areas. And so unlike our stay at the Townhouse earlier in the summer. Sadly, would think twice before staying again, esp during these summer months.
