My daughter and I had afternoon tea at The Athenaeum. The food was very good but the service unprofessional and the room had no atmosphere.I asked the waiter if I could order another sandwich and was told this would cost an extra £25!!There were no tablecloths and the tables were scratched and old. Would not recommend The Athenaeum for afternoon tea as there are many more hotels close by offering far more.

Booked smaller unit of 270 square feet. It is tiny and only works if you're single occupant and don't plan on spending time at hotel. My wife and I couldn't maneuver about room with 2 suitcases. The bathroom was literally 3x3 and terrible. We changed units immediately to 1br suite... roughly 430 square ft. It was definitely worth it. Great room, big bathroom, very comfortable. Night and day and worth the extra few hundred. A friend of mine stayed at the Lanesboro and paid $1100 for beautiful 1 br for beautiful room. The Anthenaeum 1 br suite cost me $650/night, which I felt was incredible value vs. probably the nicest hotel in London.

We recently stayed at The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences after a stressful experience with an Airbnb booking that we had to cancel last minute. From the moment we arrived, the difference was night and day. Check-in was quick, easy, and stress-free – exactly what we needed. The hotel itself is spotless, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more professional. They greeted us by name throughout our stay, which really made it feel personal and welcoming. The location is excellent, with so much of London right on the doorstep. A special mention has to go to Daniel, the doorman, who was outstanding. He always had a smile and the best suggestions for what to see and do around the city. His recommendations added so much to our trip. Highly recommend The Athenaeum – it’s the perfect mix of comfort, service, and location.

These guys are out of this world. The hotel is obviously fantastic but these two guys made our trip to this hotel so much better than what it was already. The banter they share about football definitely creates an atmosphere that you can only share with mates! The hotel is in a great location being minutes away from central London.
