Charming London house - Avoid if you prefer soulless international hotels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed 5 days. Great experience. Room on the 5th floor. Nice balcony to have breakfast even in end of October. Yes stairs or lift are narrow but this typical of a London Kensington house. The room was of a sufficient size for two. I have seen worst in comparable hotel range. Great experience overall. Breakfast serving can be puzzling but I had comparable experience in Rome or Florence in such type of historical houses. Most and foremost, incredibly helpful and welcoming staff !!!

Great little hotel in a perfect location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Not a lot to fault here. The hotel is quiet and comfortable. The room is typically small as is common in buildings of this vintage. Location is terrific, with many shops, restaurants, and the tube nearby. We were delighted from start to finish.

Impeccable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Impeccable in every word! The staff were very polite and friendly, the hotel magnificent, the decoration very warm, everything was sparkling and offered a very nice balcony area for being able to smoke while enjoying your coffee. From arrival I already had the feeling I am home. Located in walking distances to Harrods and nice restaurants. I already miss my staying there and they will be my first and unique choice everytime I visit London ❤️

Good location, lovely staff, OKish room! (Do not book with breakfast)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Picked this hotel for its location near the shops, and because I like to stay in a different part of London each time a visit. The hotel itself was OKish, the room felt a little claustrophobic, but it was clean and well maintained. The staff was very kind and helpful. I found the whole "breakfast in your room or in the lobby lounge" somewhat baffling, as neither option was really desirable. The whole breakfast thing needs a revamp I find. This hotel is a good option for a very short trip, although it is quite pricey for what it offers.

2-star hotel with poor service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

The hotel is at most a 2-star, which o expected for the price. Worse was the fact that the fire alarm went off three times in the 48 hours I was there, and that staff accused me of blocking the smoke detector in my room. Not only did I not do that, but the fact that previous guests had and the staff had not noticed was a safety risk to me. I do not recommend the hotel and won’t be returning.

I couldn't have liked The Beaufort better and the location was wonderful! What a great home away from home.

The accommodations we received at The Beaufort in London were truly luxurious. How nice to find something that is true to its billing on the Internet. The house staff treated us so very well.

Regarding The Beaufort, we had no idea such a serene setting existed so close to the action! However, being only a couple of blocks from Harrod's and Harvey Nichols at the start of the January sales caused us to incur several unbudgeted expenses. That, combined with day after day of sunshine... in January... made for one stellar holiday.
