On arrival at The Beaufort, guests are greeted at the front door and given their own door key to come and go as they please. This charming townhouse hotel in London's Knightsbridge district, mere steps away from Harrod's, exudes the calm and charm of an English country house at a fasionable London address. Contemporary and casually elegant, guest rooms offer state-of-the-art technology and cosseting touches that include mineral water, chocolates and biscuits.

Picked this hotel for its location near the shops, and because I like to stay in a different part of London each time a visit. The hotel itself was OKish, the room felt a little claustrophobic, but it was clean and well maintained. The staff was very kind and helpful. I found the whole "breakfast in your room or in the lobby lounge" somewhat baffling, as neither option was really desirable. The whole breakfast thing needs a revamp I find. This hotel is a good option for a very short trip, although it is quite pricey for what it offers.

The hotel is at most a 2-star, which o expected for the price. Worse was the fact that the fire alarm went off three times in the 48 hours I was there, and that staff accused me of blocking the smoke detector in my room. Not only did I not do that, but the fact that previous guests had and the staff had not noticed was a safety risk to me. I do not recommend the hotel and won’t be returning.

The breakfasts are a disaster – you have the option of either eating in your tiny room on the bed or in the lounge downstairs - We were shocked!! The bed was tiny for 2 people and very uncomfortable. The room when we walked in was FREEZING cold. (in October). They gave us a small heater!! The bathrooms have no extractor fan or windows, also icy cold. The taps or faucets hardly working. In the shower unbelievably complicated to use. Once you have a shower the water goes all over the floor, fogs up the mirror and the walls are soaking, even mouldy. The good location and the friendly staff are the only positive things to mention.

Charming Boutique hotel. The staff and service was outstanding. The afternoon tea was simply delightful And the property itself was lovely. Fresh flowers. Very clean. Someone at the desk 24 hours. I don’t get the negative reviews that have come up, but I can assure you my visit was flawless at every level. Im a 72 year old solo woman traveler and felt exceptionally safe. I was in Room 41 which was so cozy and well done. I will certainly return here when I next travel to London,

I confirm everything written in the previous review (Mar 2024): This hotel is old, the furniture outdated, the rooms tiny, sound insulation inexistant, ... and we also got one in the basement before moving to a 2nd floor one. No way someone can convince me this is a 4 stars hotel; 3 at best. The price (more than 300 pounds!) is the only 4 stars attribute I found here. Icing on the cake: no restaurant; have to eat breakfast in our tiny room.

I couldn't have liked The Beaufort better and the location was wonderful! What a great home away from home.

The accommodations we received at The Beaufort in London were truly luxurious. How nice to find something that is true to its billing on the Internet. The house staff treated us so very well.

Regarding The Beaufort, we had no idea such a serene setting existed so close to the action! However, being only a couple of blocks from Harrod's and Harvey Nichols at the start of the January sales caused us to incur several unbudgeted expenses. That, combined with day after day of sunshine... in January... made for one stellar holiday.
