Where traditional virtues and ultimate contemporary conveniences meet, The Chesterfield Mayfair - A Red Carnation Hotel offers an ideal location in the heart of London. At this exclusive enclave just a short stroll from Bond Street, you'll feel right at home with its club-like ambience, classic Regency styling and traditionally elegant accommodations. Here, at the former home of the Earl of Chesterfield, "…the service is warm and the hotel suitably upscale," raves Fodor's in September 2005.

We spent a week at this wonderful hotel and never had a bad moment. The hotel is well run, with a warm, knowledgeable staff who work hard to satisfy guests. In particular, the concierge Loris addressed our many questions efficiently and with good humor and receptionist Israel greeted us with a huge smile as we passed in and out. We booked a suite and enjoyed the extra space (table and chairs, settee, and window seat). Everything was spotless, with linen and silver service in the rooms and dining room, and the room was cleaned, towels refreshed, and turn down service daily. Mid-week, we received a personal note of thanks from the staff. The dining room was an unexpected high point--with fresh breads, full breakfast menu, and skillfully rendered evening entrees. The bar was another treat, with live piano every evening and a small menu. The Mayfair location makes this hotel walking distance to the high-end shopping, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey/Big Ben/Parliament/Churchill War Rooms, and Hyde Park. It's easy to get to all the tourist venues by black cab, bus, or tube.

What a delightful hotel, located on a quiet street in the heart of Mayfair. I can't call this hotel inexpensive, but in a city of expensive hotels, the Chesterfield Mayfair is an outstanding value. First, it exudes character. From the exterior to the lobby to the bar to my room, this is absolutely not a cookie-cutter hotel. If you're coming to London and want a hotel that reflects its environment, the Chesterfield Mayfair will not disappoint. My room was a single king, No. 413. It wasn't large (no surprise in London), but it was very well-appointed and comfortable, with superb climate control, nice-quality lighting, an inviting bed, an outstanding shower, good wi-fi, very good soundproofing, attractive decor, lovely tan faux-suede upholstery on parts of the room's walls, beautiful bed linens, and fantastically thick blackout curtains that let in not even the thinnest shaft of sunlight until I was ready for it. Housekeeping here, which includes nightly turndown service, is just outstanding. My room was meticulously well maintained and I noticed how conscientiously my bottled water was replenished -- even though the tap water is absolutely fine. Oh, and the TV remote was always clean and smudge-free. Door staff were ever-present (I don't think I ever touched the hotel's front door, coming or going). Front desk people were friendly and attentive. The lobby offered plenty of comfortable seating. I enjoyed this hotel. I enjoyed coming back to the Chesterfield Mayfair after a day full of activity. And I was quite sad to leave.

Stayed here a few nights while meeting up with family and I will definitely stay again! The staff was so lovely and provided brilliant recommendations and service. My sister and I are quite young considering the general crowd that stays here. The front desk gave us great age based recommendations of things to do in London, bars, restaurants, etc... They also provided hand written postcards to each of our family rooms. Each room was beautifully unique and different. The charm and beauty of this hotel was the quintessential essence of what we wanted from our trip.

This is a great hotel in an excellent location. I stayed here in late October with some family (4 rooms) and could not have been more pleases. The rooms are well equipped with coffees and teas, water, etc., and very clean. They also have turn down service, a nice feature that seems to be disappearing from nice hotels. I stayed in "the study" -- the room in the featured photo -- and really liked it. Finally, the staff were super helpful and kind, and we really liked the doorman as well (Mustafa).

I had the absolute privilege of staying at this hotel for one night on Sunday, 26th October. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I felt like the most important person there. The hotel itself is beautiful — the rooms are elegantly decorated and spotless, the beds wonderfully comfortable, and every detail feels truly special. What makes this hotel truly outstanding, however, are the remarkable people who work there. From the Door to Butlers Restaurant to Sem’s at Mayfair, every interaction was warm, genuine, and memorable. My heartfelt thanks go to the wonderful team who made my stay unforgettable: Vitali, Mustafa, Georgy, Joeszef, Hashim, Maina, Ellen, Israel, Darren, Loris, Paolo, Jade, Gala, Tun, Clement, Robert, and Surbir. And to John, thank you for sharing your talent at the piano in Sem's at Mayfair. Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat. Fondest regards, Carol Stander
