My friend & I visited the Corinthia for the first time a few months ago & had a drink in The Velvet Room which was lovely. We liked it so much that we decided to return to try the Afternoon Tea which my husband bought for my birthday. We were shown to a table which was around the main larger table in the middle of the room. It was quite uncomfortable to sit at as you couldn’t put your legs under the table so had to sit to the side of it. The food was good but when I asked for more tea, it was poured into my already half filled cup of cold tea. I expected to be asked if I wanted a fresh cup but wasn’t given the option. After our Afternoon Tea we thought we’d finish off with a glass of wine in The Velvet Room, only to find out it was closed on a Monday! I have been for quite a few Afternoon Teas & was a bit disappointed by this 5* hotel.

Poke bowl and a Caribbean old fashioned. Basque cheesecake and a service that was amazing. The staff in the northall bar are so welcoming. I came in for a couple of drinks and lunch. The food was really good and the cheesecake hit the spot. Absolutely recommend this hotel.

I believe greatness is not achieved by never failing but by how you bounce back when you do, which is inevitable. I can see what makes the Conrinthia great. We had a fantastic experience with the entire breakfast staff, the people at the front door, Lucia the manager and Pina at the bar. Really outstanding. There was an issue when we were checking in but the entire staff then made up for it and made sure we felt heard. It is really a wonderful place! I highly recommend it. We will be coming back.
