Home away from home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The Dilly is our home away home. The hotel’s location is perfect, the rooms are comfortable clean and clear, the staff nice. But what is really exceptional is its Guest Relationship Manager Selim Atias. He is the best and took good care of us during our stay. I hereby thank him for all the support and hope to be back soon.

Lovely Time at The Dilly

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Lovely visit to London staying at The Dilly which is very central, easily accessible by the Tube, and convenient to multiple great neighborhoods in the area. The staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. We particularly appreciated the service at The Terrace for breakfast from Brijal, Rajat, and team who were smiling throughout despite being busy and very helpful. Kudos to the staff and to management for providing them with the space and training and support to provide such a level of service.

Not worth the price tag

Location is perfect. Rooms are a good size compared to other hotels. Hotel and rooms are extremely old and most things don’t work. I had a broken hair dryer, toilet, and room service not at all good standards, don’t even wipe tables or vacuum room. I stayed 8 nights and not once was it vacuumed. Staff is a hit or miss. Most are welcoming and friendly and great service then others are standoffish. The reception never says their name when u call them and their hotel phones cannot dial outside lines at all which is very weird. Most alarming and dissatisfaction were the hotel bar and restaurant closing down at 11:30pm even though it was the weekend. Then they had a whole Indian wedding party overbearing the entire lobby area and no one from hotel staff managing the area so guests could leave the premises during this event so it was annoying having to wait 15 minutes just to exit the hotel to get out. I stayed 8 nights there. Emailed the GM Daniel and never responded. London is my favorite city to visit and it’s because of their hospitality and attention to guests. Did not receive that here even though I spent a lot of money. Overall, would not stay here again. Elevator was down my entire trip and if you visit London you know that their elevators are small to begin with so this was a true inconvenience. Housekeeping needs to do better because even when asked to clean it still wasn’t done within 8 hours. There was no act of compensation for all the inconvenience.Ali for luggage was the most helpful and accommodating person in hotel as was Heather for understanding. Also had major stains and noise

Definitely NOT 5 star

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Don't be fooled: the Dilly might once have been a five star hotel, but that was a long time ago. They are, however, still charging five star prices! Everything is old, tired or in a state of disrepair. During our stay (more than a week), two of the hotel's four elevators were out of service, with no indication that any repair was imminent. The wait time for an elevator was ridiculous, especially in the morning. The hotel's revolving front door was similarly "out of service". The Dilly's only saving graces are its location and its staff, who are unfailingly warm and helpful. Otherwise, it is very difficult to find anything to recommend about this hotel.

It was ok

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The mirror was noticeably dirty, and the room itself felt very standard. The pool was quite cold, which made it less enjoyable than we had hoped. On a brighter note, the breakfast was excellent, with a great variety to choose from. The hotel’s public areas, including the bar, were absolutely beautiful and immaculately clean.
