Very disappointing and unsafe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Very unsafe. They have promotional parties (3 when I was there) with many people attending and very little security. You are unable to use the hotel lobby/sitting area or have a drink in the bar too. One morning I was startled by a man working in the women's toilet without signage on the door so when I walked in and went into a bathroom stall, I was taken aback to find a man inside this small bathroom. Our Room was not particularly well cleaned and we had to request removal or cracked furniture. Dirty cups of tea were left on the table for several days. Half empty water bottles were never replaced with fresh ones. Check your bill. Many charges were put on which were not valid. It took three trips for items to be removed. For instance, We paid for breakfast but charges were still put on bill. I wanted to discuss this with a manager when checking out but no one was on property till 8:30am I received a call 6 hours later but the manager was very combative and wanted pictures of what I tried to mention above. I had just boarded my plane so asked if she could call me the next day so we could discuss in more detail. I am still waiting.

Great beds, but no 5 star treatment checking in and checking out

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The bed was very comfortable. Airco did not work, we got another room. Breakfast was great. But we booked the hotel via Booking.com based on the price. Total amount was payed just before arrival. When arriving with my 82 year old mother in law who was tired from the journey we wanted to go to the rooms straight away. But firs the hotel demanded £400 per room for incidents and expenses during our stay. That is not a 5 star treatment for guests who already payed the full bill in advance, especially when this was not communicated before. It was very humiliating and stressfull. We felt kidnapped by the hotel not being able to get to our rooms before this £800 was blocked on our CC. This was the 20th hotel we booked via Booking.com but the first that operates this way towards the guests who already paid the complete bill. Not a very nice start of the 4 days in this hotel. When checking out the hotel presented a bill of £264 for a a lunch and additional non mandatory service costs. We did not pay that bill. We never had lunch in the hotel and the additional service costs aparently were in the paper we stressfully (just an extra £800 blocked on the CC) signed when we arrived with the knowledge that we had payed everything in advance. The non mandatory service costs were also not communicated on Booking.com so if we would have paid this, it would not be fair to the other hotels on booking.com we looked at when booking. We choose the Franklin based on price.

Elegant Boutique Hotel with Impeccable Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

The Franklin is absolutely beautiful, its opulent interiors designed by Anoushka Hempel. Every nook is a study in elegance and sophistication. With just 35 rooms, it’s a boutique experience, with personal, polished, but down to earth service. My room was stylish and plush, and I particularly liked the fabric covered wardrobes and Frette bedding. Pre-made plans meant we didn’t dine in-house, but having seen the stunning restaurant headed up by Michelin starred, Italian chef, Alfredo Russo, we will definitely return. The adjacent Franklin Bar is also a temple of style and glamour, with its mirrored walls, marble tables and ambient, low lighting. The location is handy for Knightsbridge and Sloane Street, with Harrods just 10 minutes walk away.

Beautiful and Romantic

Amazing romantic hotel. Small boutique hotel, very calm and romantic. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Service top, a bit disappointing for breakfast but we recommend the place without hesitation Chelsea being very nice close to Harrods

Prestigious stay in the Franklin hotel London.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Such a good experience, unforgettable stay, I had stayed 5 nights. The staff were very friendly specifically Yousef , Neusa. But I couldn't forget the manager Ms.Justina for her support. I had very pleasant stay in all manners, the only thing they need to consider is the time that it will be taken to have your breakfast 😉 really sometimes it took around 40 minutes.
