Utter perfection

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We checked into this fabulous place for a two night stay in London. This is a fabulous historical property very near to Buckingham Palace. It has many period features and you can see it has been lovingly restored and decorated. The place just oozed style and was surprisingly quiet and tranquil considering its busy central London location. The attention to detail in this establishment is just outstanding. From the attentive and personable staff, the gorgeous monochrome themed decor and added touches in the executive lounge - bags of traditional sweets in black/white striped paper bags, scones with jam and cream, an ice cream fridge (all complimentary). Fabulous monogrammed table and bed linen, beautiful toiletries in the bathroom, stationary sets in desk drawers. The turndown service at night was very creative - A poignant London quote on a card, a handwritten personal message, with an Elemis pillow spray or individual boxed handmade fudge, a London themed mini tin of tea. They really had thought of everything. And now the bit that absolutely blew me away …… the staff had asked us upon our check in if we were in London for a special event? (We were attending a veterans garden Party at Buckingham Palace). On the day of the event one of the staff commented about a necklace I was wearing and I told them that it was a topaz that my dad had brought back from Burma in the 50’s as a present for my mum. When we got back to our room that evening there was a paper scroll on our table with a poem written especially for us about our trip (see photo for wording) What a very touching and thoughtful thing to do.

Art deco home from home

Just like an exclusive english club. Someone always available to answer any request. Art deco themed with lovely roof top bar when weather allows. Great place to come home to after theatre where there was always some food and drink to quench post theatre cravings. Well worth a visit

Truly a Special, Well-Managed Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I chose Hotel 41 because of the excellent reviews and what seemed like personal attention to their guests. I booked this hotel for my parents, who are both in their mid-70s. I wanted to make sure that they had people looking out for them. Their stay was 6 nights. The other advantage to this property is its location and the fact that it is only a 5-minute walk to Victoria Station, where my parents would be taking most of their tours. The communication prior to arrival was excellent, and I was even encouraged to forward their itinerary while in London. Once they arrived at the Hotel, they had a few maintenance issues with their room and were feeling a little unsure. However, it is my belief that issues will always come up, especially with old, classic properties, but it is how they are handled is important. I have been in properties, even high-end establishments that will blame the guest for the failing or try to pass the blame in some other way. I wrote to the Hotel with some trepidation over how our misgivings would be handled. Well, I was completely blown away by the immediate and positive response. The Hotel went above and beyond in every respect. One of the staff members even walked my parents to their tour on the British Pullman train. My Mom later told me she didn’t think they would’ve found it without their help, as it leaves from a different part of Victoria Station. This is just one example of many kind and courteous gestures that my parents experienced while staying at Hotel 41. On their last night at the Hotel, my Mom told me she wished she could stay instead of transferring Hotels to meet up with a separate tour. This is undoubtedly high praise and made me feel I had put my trust in the right people and the right hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high level of service and care, which seems to be a fleeting commodity in today’s world. The culture of the management is one of constructive cooperation with dignified and service-oriented distinction. I can’t thank the staff and management of Hotel 41 enough for their kind engagement with me and for caring for my parents as if they were their own. It was a truly positive and heart-warming experience.

Redefining "Above and Beyond"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Having stayed at 41 on several previous occasions as a single traveller, this was the first time visiting as a family. This was a trip for my eldest son's 10th birthday, who has been asking to visit 41 ever since learning of the ice cream fridge! When mentioning the birthday on the initial welcome form, I received an email response indicating that it would be made memorable. The trip really did go above and beyond my expectations! The extra touches, the level of service and the unique ambience make it impossible to not enjoy, regardless of travelling solo or as a family. The staff in particular are an absolute credit to the company. I can't help but recommend 41 to anybody I meet who mentions they want to travel to London. I can't wait to go back!

Highly recommend

I highly recommend this hotel! I booked through a third party based on customer reviews and was not disappointed. They were very affordable considering how beautifully appointed and luxurious the room felt. The service was impeccable - they made me feel like a VIP by anticipating my needs before I could think to ask for something! Do yourself a favor and book this hotel for your visit to the Westminster area of London!

My bid for a five-day stay at the 41 Hotel in London was accepted. I'm writing to report that the hotel experience was extraordinary. The quality of the room (the bed, the bath, and a full panoply of amenities) was five-star. Even more important, the service was unqualifiedly exceptional — personal, attentive, efficient, friendly. I've been pleased with prior Luxury Link bookings but none has been the qualify of the 41 Hotel. It was truly a private residence with full service experience.

What an experience. Small and quaint where service is personal, efficient, and attentive. Never a want for anything. We arrived on my birthday and were treated like royalty the entire 5 day stay! We were greeted with champagne and a staff that was beyond exceptional. What a treat to return to our room after my b-day dinner to find a heart made of rose pedals on our bed and a room filled with red candles -- and a cake! The staff at 41 is exceptional -- they all went out of their way to make our stay so very special. Love this hotel and plan to return soon. Location is across from the Mews at Buckinham Palace. Descrete and wonderful!

Ever impulsive, we gambled on a "Buy it Now" for Hotel 41. And that gamble paid off (they don’t always - being "impulsive" is way over-rated). BUT - What a lovely place! What a terrific staff - every single one of them! This was truly our home for the week we spent in London. We'd start with breakfast in the lounge, back to the room for a rousing game of Wii volleyball (or basketball), walk all over London, back in time for appetizers and to catch up with the staff and other guests, then back out for a show and dinner or more sightseeing. The staff arranged everything for us: exchanging the complimentary champagne for a wonderful chardonnay when they noticed we declined the champagne, setting up the complimentary Wii in our room, theater tickets, high tea, dinners, tours. My favorite thing was getting back to the room at the end of the night: lights dimmed, candles lit, bottled water replenished on the night stands, classical music playing low in the background, and hot water bottles tucked underneath the beautifully turned down covers. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
