Reviews for The Kensington

Luxury stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed at the Kensington for 4 nights and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome. The staff were very pleasant without being overbearing. The breakfast was top notch and the cocktails were on another level. The rooms were spacious and clean and the whole hotel exhumed luxury. A real treat and look forward to returning some day.

Small room, luxurious experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

While our room was very small, our experience was amazing! The staff is so welcoming and always greeted us with a smile. Everything in our room was spotless with nice bathroom products. Location was great, lots of food options nearby and close to a large tube station!

Wonderful for children, even better for parents

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had an unforgettable stay at The Kensington Hotel with our 4-year-old son. Visiting a big city with a young child can be challenging, but The Kensington Hotel facilitated us in every way. The staff is truly wonderful in making children feel seen and appreciated. They surprised our son with cheeky questions and conversations, a treasure hunt around the hotel, and even toys to play with. The breakfast menu was a delight. We did not have a view from our room, other than a brick wall, but that didn’t bother us too much. The trip was unforgettable. We hope to return next year. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful Exterior, Disappointing Rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It's a pretty hotel just from the outside, with a pretty restaurant and lounge space, but the rooms are grossly more basic than your average Marriott hotel room. It's not worth the money.

Great location, but overpriced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed for four nights here in July 2025. The hotel is located in South Kensington near the natural history museum and the tube station, and is surrounded by great cafes and restaurants. However, we found the hotel itself overpriced; our room was very small and was £295 per night, breakfast was charged at £40 per person and a glass of wine was £15. We had requested a quiet room but found the corridors very noisy with heavy doors closing constantly and a droning machine noise in the room in the earlier part of the night but this seemed to settle in the early hours of the morning. The decor however was stunning, and the bar, lounge and restaurant areas were beautiful. The staff were generally very friendly and any requests we made were met such as asking for an iron or extra pillows.
