The Kensington

My daughter & I stayed at The Kensington for 3 nights mid August. From the second we arrived we were made feel like Royalty. The hotel itself is simply beautiful & has that “ Je ne sais quoi” special feel & ambience. Every attention to detail is not over- looked. Without a doubt the staff themselves are superb. A very special mention to Tom, the guest services manager. He is outstanding, goes above & beyond to ensure that every guest is having that “ special Kensington Hotel” experience. He is warm, courteous & welcoming , at the same time, the consummate professional, very dedicated & it is evident he loves his job. Ingrida , at breakfast was just darling. So attentive & provided excellent service. We were recommended this hotel by a friend in New Jersey, 🇺🇸 Best recommendation ever. My daughter & I cannot wait to return.

I’d stayed here before and everything was great but this time things were absolutely horrific not only was the whole room a mess when we got there it had missing paint on the walls. The toilet was dirty. I mean we were just in shock standing there thinking oh I’m never staying here again anyway the manager Tom came up, gave us some fruit and chocolate and talked to us for a bit. we didn’t say anything about the room to be kind at the time, but it was just the beginning of a terrible four days. Let me say this. I’ll never stay there again not only was the kitchen staff a crazy mess, but people were getting their food before they even got their coffee most days it was terrible experience. We did not eat there other than the breakfast we had prepaid for. We did not drink there we did not do anything there. We left every day and came back at night and yet they still managed to take $150 from our deposit for absolutely no reason and when we asked for it back, they literally ignored us and we contacted the Doyle directly and still no answer. I would never stay there again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We had the most incredible two-night stay at The Kensington, and we genuinely couldn't have asked for a more perfect hotel for such a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly, approachable and genuinely couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable. It was clear that every detail had been thought through, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. A special mention must go to Thomas, Daisy, Harvey and the wider team, who went absolutely above and beyond for us. Their attention to detail, kindness and willingness to help made such a difference, particularly in the lead-up to and on the morning of our wedding. Their support helped our wedding morning run so smoothly, and we felt incredibly well looked after throughout. We were also travelling with our two children, aged 4 and 2, and the hotel couldn't have been more wonderful with them. They were made to feel so special and were absolutely delighted with the little touches, from the teepee beds to the milk and cookies at bedtime. Those thoughtful details made them feel just as included in our special stay, and they absolutely loved every minute. We were also so impressed by how welcoming and accommodating the hotel was to our wider family and friends. Several of our family members visited The Kensington for drinks in the lobby before leaving for the ceremony, and the team made everyone feel so welcome. It was wonderful to know that our family and friends were experiencing the same warmth and hospitality that we had enjoyed throughout our stay. Our wedding morning itself was incredibly calm and seamless, which was so important to us. The team were fantastic at accommodating everything we needed and made what could have been a stressful morning feel completely relaxed. We honestly couldn't have asked for better service. The Kensington is a real gem. The combination of beautiful surroundings, exceptional service and genuinely caring staff made our stay unforgettable. It felt like everyone we met truly wanted to make our experience special, and that is something we will remember for a very long time. We cannot recommend The Kensington highly enough and will absolutely be returning in the future.

We enjoyed afternoon tea this past Saturday with Jordan as our waiter. He was so knowledgeable about everything and talked us through the history of each dish. He also took incredible photos of us - thank you for making our experience so lovely <3
