Reviews for London Marriott Hotel Park Lane

Excellent Service and Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I stayed six nights at the Marriott Park Lane. I’ve previously stayed here in 2022 and I can say this is one of the better Bonvoy Marriott options in London from a service perspective. The staff at the door, front desk, and executive lounge are all very attentive and quick to respond. The location is excellent as you’re next to a bus stop and the Marble Arch tube station. The staff left me a birthday cake which shows they pay attention to the small details. The fitness center is adequate with a few cardio machines, free weights and a cable machine. My only feedback was the noise level of the hotel. I got a room on the second floor facing Hyde Park which means you’ll be also facing Park Lane. Every night I’d hear police and ambulance sirens. You can also wood creaking from doorsteps from the corridor. Best to avoid a room facing the street.

Serene Luxury at the Hyde Park Marble Arch

"Dear London Marriott Hotel Park Lane, I write you today to praise the special attention and highly personal service lavished on my wife and me by your warm and wonderful staff, including Sahil, Sukh, Silver, Griton et all.. Congratulations on building a team of professionals who is so thoroughly dedicated to delighting customers! I travel extensively for leisure and business (Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium) and have stayed in fine hotels around the world. The magnificent ambiance and luxury of the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane make it a new favorite. International travel can be exhausting so it's refreshing to be warmly welcomed upon check-in and treated as an old friend. Your staff was tireless in anticipating and accommodating our needs at every turn on both our one night stays (10/7 and 10/19). Your team was swift and efficient in handling early check ins, upgrades to fabulous suites (Royal Park and Camelford) as well as being a cheerful fountain of local knowledge and recommendations! We live in a business world rife with hollow rhetoric about excellent customer service...how refreshing to experience the real thing. I now feel like I have friends at your property...your extraordinary team represents the essence of what makes Marriott the best. Thanks again for everything...we can't wait to return!"

Premium price, average stay

I have stayed at the London Marriott Park Lane three times over the past six months. Overall, it is slightly better than your average Marriott (which is not saying much). While the location is excellent, the rooms and service are inconsistent. As a Platinum Elite member, I have not received an upgrade or early check-in during any of my three stays. Upon check-in, the front desk staff indicate they will call when the room is ready but never do. On my most recent stay, the room wasn’t ready until after 4 p.m., even though check-in time is 3 p.m. Two of the three rooms (at $1000+/night) I’ve had looked out at another building, offering no view and very little natural light. One of the rooms was also quite small. Service is hit or miss. On the first day, we asked for a few bottles of water that never arrived. The next day, I requested six small bottles just in case, but was told they could send only four and that I would be charged for any additional ones. Overall, consistent with the Marriott brand, you can tell they are cutting corners wherever possible. For example, housekeeping removed a torn shower cap but didn’t replace it. Door and front desk staff are friendly just not as responsive as you would hope.

The breakfast (la carte style) is fantastic. The attendent / waiter Vivian in the breakfast venue is FANTASTIC (best i met in all hotels so far!), remembering guests' preference, very thoughtful and also good recommendation. Room service is also fantastic!

Good & Not So Good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Good: The rooms were decorate beautifully and very nice amenities. The bathroom was gorgeous and did have a magnifying mirror which I have begun to appreciate! The towel warming rack was a nice touch. Nice foyer. Delicious and nice surprise of chocolate dessert in the room when we arrived. All of the doormen were super friendly. We had Club access as Platinum Bonvoy and I must say it was one of the best we have experienced. Beautiful little alcove to sit in along with other table areas. Plentiful food - more offerings/hours than we typically see. And the food was beautiful and delicious - the staff in the Club was super friendly. The location of the hotel itself is in a very busy area and convenient to the Tube stop right outside. However, the Tube was on strike while we were there - so we did a bit more walking that planned - but that is not the fault of the hotel! The Not So Good: We had submitted our upgrade certificates and are Platinum and still could not get an upgrade. We were given a room on the first floor - with no view - unless you count the building a foot away as a view... but I guess that also meant we did to hear street noise... so there is a bright side to that I suppose. The front desk check-in was not super friendly or helpful in trying to find us a room on a higher level as they were "sold out". The room was a bit small. But we spent most or our time in the Club or out and about. Overall it was a nice stay but we had stayed at a different hotel (Park Hyatt over by Battersea) in a different location - so we were a bit spoiled with the size of the room and amenities there. We did not have an opportunity to experience the beautiful spa and fitness facilities at the Marriott Park Lane - but they did look amazing!
