Reviews for The Marylebone

Great customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had an exceptional stay at the wonderful Marleybone hotel in London. The staff and management were tremendously attentive to all our needs. The morningbreakfast was wonderful as was the service. We highly recommend this great place. The night manager, Godwin Chima accommodated a special request that was much appreciated.

Unbelievably poor treatment and aftercare - do not book!

I am not one to write reviews normally and the money that I paid to stay in this hotel for three nights I had expected considerably better treatment than I had, however, to start from Saturday check in. As my partner and I had arrived early for the theatre we asked for a simple service whilst we went for the afternoon and left out luggage to have a couple of items steamed for the theatre - we returned to find that was impossible and a steamer had been left in our room (240). After the theatre we returned to and icebox of a room around fifteen degrees, after complaining because we could neither turn the air con down or off we were offered a change of room at midnight which we were too tired for so remained and ask to be changed on Sunday but expected a reduction. After returning from our event on Sunday "Ellie" showed us 380 - our suggested room change - with a number of nice things arranged in the room which we considered a nice touch after such a dreadful night previously; we accepted as a change. However, we returned to 240 to pack to a disgruntled chambermaid who was not in the least bit happy that we were in packing to move, and we left 'the steamer' in the first wardrobe on the left on the top shelf. We then waited ina corridor with all of our things for 20 minutes until a porter arrived. Again, night two, room freezing we called out the evening staff again, who at least managed to turn it off. My partner was leaving the next day and I was checking in to local hospital on Tuesady morning. I am now 36 hour post-operation and home, recovering from a general anaesthetic and I have just been called by The Marylebone Hotel at 21:00 Thursday 28th May, who have had the gall to ask me if I have inadvertently taken the steamer as (I quote) 'we charge guests for removing property'. I am livid to have received such an accusatory telephone call, and because I booked through Booking.com have neither had a reduction in my room rates for the extremely poor standard of a our stay, or any reasonable apology that has not come with retractions; showing people room with extras and then removing those extras - fruit, wine, chocolates - is a breach in a contract to a customer. I have never stolen anything from a hotel in my life! I do not even take the shampoo! I normally choose The Soho for location and service, this choice of this hotel was a huge mistake and I advise anyone to consider anywhere else if you want the service you deserve for their tariff charged - I was willing to let it all lie but that telephone call has left me incandescent with rage.

Warm welcome, friendly service and an excellent breakfast

Marylebone is a lovely area in london. Close to lots of tourist sights but has a village feel with lots of independent shops and good restaurants. The Marylebone Hotel is luxurious, comfortable and welcoming, and is an excellent location to enjoy the delights of the area. Their restaurant 108 serves delicious food at typical London prices. We had a fantastic celebratory meal there. My only criticism was the shower in the bathroom which definitely needed an update. Hotel guests get the benefit of using the third Space gym and swimming pool. However, although probably very attractive to younger, fitter guests, we found the pool too much of a subterranean trek to use.

Cozy dinner outdoor

Amazing food (try the salmon, and trout if they have) and location, right by the street in a nice neighborhood. The sun and Robert made the experience even better!
