Unfortunately, I didn’t find it to be a true “5 star” hotel. I checked in around 9 pm after a long day of travel and was given what I think was the last room they had and looked nothing like the photos. It was the size of a large closet, dark, few outlets, the floor had a deep slant down coming out of the bathroom and stains all over the carpet. A fridge with nothing in it (zero complimentary items other than a pitcher of water). The bathroom was small and looked run down. The towels also had a strong smell. If this was a 3 or 4 star hotel I wouldn’t have bat an eyelash but for what I was paying (a lot) it was not at all what I was used to. I ended up requesting a room change but they only had the same exact room available or I’d have to pay $800 to upgrade to a studio. I ended up paying the extra cost since I wanted a room that matched my expectations for a first time trip here. The front desk seemed unfazed by my request and I thought they’d be a little more understanding that the room I booked looked nothing like the website. The new room was better. Again, it’s a bit outdated, nothing complimentary but I’d take it over the original room. The collection rooms definitely need some upgrading for this class of hotel. On a positive note, the concierge, house keeping and hotel staff overall were very nice and it’s in a great area of the city. The spa was also lovely and had a great facial.

My stay and business event at The May Fair was exceptional. I was lucky to be upgraded to the Opium Suite for my overnight stay which was out of this world! From check-in to leaving I could not fault the hotel and the team members I met. Thank you!!

I have been staying at this Hotel since 2007 and it had always been a fabulous experience, until now. The Hotel is now dated and dirty, and most importantly, the staff and service levels have dropped drastically and suddenly. Even as a regular and loyal customer, I was given a room with a leaking window, and loud construction starting at 7 am despite specifically mentioning that I need a quiet room. I was then transferred to a different room which was dirty and not worthy of being a room at The Mayfair. There are too many staff in the lobby and at the front desk, but it almost seems like they have been specifically trained to refuse any and all requests no matter how legitimate and small. As The Mayfair has been a name to reckon with for decades, I hope this is all temporary and that they will address all the issues quickly and efficiently, failing which the Legacy is truly at risk...

I strayed at the May Fair hotel last night . As usual staff is welcoming and professional. Anna the reception manager will go the extra mile to make your time at the hotel stress free and memorable. You definitely can count on her as person and a manager .

Top notch hotel that met or exceeded all expectations. Service was world class, facilities are solid, and location is great. Will definitely return next time in town!
