The May Fair Hotel

Really wanted to like this property, but unfortunately it fell short. Our room was not cleaned and on check in we had to request cleaning. The tv was broken. The coffee machine also broken. The room facilities were difficult to navigate (eg power points in difficult spots. No power in the bathroom). The shower hose came apart mid shower. Really didn’t feel like a luxury experience

Absolutely love the May Fair Hotel! The place is spotless and feels so fresh and welcoming. The staff are just amazing — so friendly and always ready to help. Special shoutout to Akil, who honestly makes the stay extra special with his personal touches and kindness. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of London, everything you need is just around the corner. Whether it’s shopping, food, or just exploring, it’s all within walking distance. If you’re looking for the perfect London stay with top service and the best vibe, this is the place!

The Mayfair is one of my favourite hotels in London. The location is simply perfect – right in the heart of Mayfair, surrounded by some of the best shops, restaurants, and bars in the city. Speaking of bars, the hotel itself has some of the very best in Mayfair – stylish, vibrant, and with a fantastic ambience. The service is always top-notch. Reception is warm and professional, and the concierge team deserves a special mention – they are attentive, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile to make every stay smooth and enjoyable. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice, fresh produce, and a lovely setting to start the day. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, though they are beginning to feel a little dated. On my last stay, some of the windows and the terrace door did not close properly, which unfortunately let in some noise from a nearby construction site. Additionally, I found it odd that there were no glasses in the room and the mini-bar was completely empty, which felt unusual for a hotel of this standard. One thing to note is that prices can vary quite a lot and are often on the high side, which may not suit every budget. However, the overall ambience of The Mayfair is outstanding. It’s elegant yet welcoming, with a great atmosphere throughout the property. Despite a few minor issues with the rooms, I keep coming back here because of the unbeatable location, excellent service, and the wonderful energy of the hotel. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a truly special stay in Mayfair.

I regret to say that my stay at the Mayfair Hotel was highly disappointing and far below the standards one would reasonably expect from a 5-star property. I made my reservation directly through the hotel’s official website, only to have it cancelled later and reoffered to me at a significantly higher rate. This practice felt both unprofessional and unfair. Prior to my check-in date, I personally visited the hotel to request twin beds. Despite my effort to secure this preference in advance, the request was not accommodated. During my stay, I repeatedly asked housekeeping to arrange the room in a German-style twin bed configuration. My requests were consistently ignored. I even raised the matter with reception three times, yet no staff member ever came to make the adjustment. This level of disregard for guest requests is unacceptable. Furthermore, the rooms are not soundproofed. Noise from both the corridors and adjacent rooms carried through the night, making restful sleep extremely difficult. For a property that positions itself at the luxury end of the market, such a lack of comfort and service is deeply disappointing. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience that did not meet the expectations of a 5-star establishment. I would strongly advise future guests to consider other options.

I stayed at the hotel in March and experienced some issues with noise. However, Dumitru solved the problem in about 15 minutes, and from then on, my stay became very comfortable. This was actually the reason I decided to return in the summer and book for 24 days! During my current stay, I faced another issue where I had to leave earlier than planned. At first, I was assisted by a staff member named Adeeba, who was very polite and professional. After that, Dumitru handled the entire process with full knowledge and expertise. I truly wish more staff members had his level of experience—he is quick, efficient, and ensures both the hotel and the guests are completely satisfied. As a lawyer myself, I really appreciated how he explained everything clearly and answered all my questions in a professional manner. On a personal level, he is also very approachable and respectful. I also want to mention a short blonde gentleman at the concierge desk, as well as a man named Ashti (if I recall the name correctly). They both assisted me with complete discretion and respect regarding my privacy, which I highly value. Overall, Dumitru truly stands out and made my stay smooth and pleasant.
