The Milestone Hotel

My wife and I wanted to thank the staff at The Milestone Hotel London for a wonderful stay 2 weeks ago. We travel a great deal and have been fortunate enough to stay at hotels all around the world. Yet our time with you stood out for something more personal than the usual comforts of a lovely hotel: the feeling of being genuinely welcomed and cared for. During our stay, I found myself remembering visits to my grandparents when I was between twelve and sixteen years old. Their home was a place of such warmth. There was always good food, time for conversation, and the reassuring feeling that they were happy to have me there. They would go the extra mile to make me feel welcome, often through small, thoughtful gestures that have stayed with me all these years. Staying with you brought back that same feeling. It was an unexpected and rather moving connection, and I wanted to share it with you because it expresses our appreciation better than simply saying that the service was excellent. You made us feel at home. The turndown service at night coming back to the room with dimmed lights and classical music was so wonderful. The masseuse at the spa went an extra mile after the massage to instruct on stretching in the gym, such a helpful thing for me. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make our visit so special. The care you put into looking after your guests truly matters, and we left with warm memories of our time with you. I thought of a poem by by Henry van Dyke that expresses our feelings well But every house where Love abides, And Friendship is a guest, Is surely home, and home-sweet-home: For there the heart can rest. Beautiful, warm and unique hotel with very interesting room decor. Staff are very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations and transportation. Even the doormen were courteous and diligent about hailing cabs for us. Food for breakfast and dinner were excellent. This is a very special place and lives up to the mission of the Carnation Hotels.

I recently stayed at the Milestone in Kensington. My family used to be in the hotel industry in the UK; that being said, I know a good hotel when I see one. This hotel checks all the boxes for: service, quality of room, location, and dining. Excellent service was provided by a team headed by Mr. Andrew Pike, Managing Director. Thanks to Messrs. Johnny, Alverez, Nitin, Dino, and Davide. Appreciation to Mdm. Gurdev in the dining area. And a gracious thank you to Mr. Steven at the Front of House--a fine gentleman with a wealth of knowledge on what makes London "tick."

I had a wonderful although short, two nights stay at the milestone in late August prior to my embarking on a cruise from Southampton. I arrived at the hotel early and was greeted by incredibly friendly people while my room was being prepared. I had a wonderful breakfast. I was given what I would call a double upgrade from a regular Kyng room to a two room Junior suite The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I had ever had. It was great having a coffee maker that made Nespresso coffee not just instant that you get it most hotels. When I was going to walk to a pub down the street the friendly door staff indicated that if I walked a little bit further on the side street behind there was a great and much better. Local pub called the builders arms. This pub was really great very authentic and I would say was there for 200 years. I had one of the best fish and chips meals that I had ever had in the service was friendly. I would definitely return to The Milestone Hotel and Residences. Being in the Kensington neighborhood, there are lots of shops in the hotels directly across from Kensington Park so it’s a great walkable neighborhood.
