The Montague on the Gardens

It gives me great pleasure to write a review on this hotel and the staff. My wife and I travelled from the US to meet my mother for the first time in 63 years and the welcome, attention, kindness and overwhelming support from the manager Arjeta to every person working there was something we’ve never experienced and this was before we met my mother. We then brought her back to the hotel for high tea where we met everyone and a simple thank you just isn’t enough. Everyone helped our journey and this is what your hotel and most of all the people working there did, they cared and my word for everyone is “ kind”. Thank you. Our journey of bridging the past was completed and your hotel played its part.

We first stayed at The Montague on the Gardens in 2017 and loved it, so 9 years later we absolutely booked our stay here again. This hotel is extraordinary and I'm happy to say that our return visit was just as lovely as 9 years ago, The Montague is situated in the beautiful Bloomsbury neighborhood. The location is perfect, close to the British Museum and the Russell Square Tube. The hotel is beautiful with gorgeous furnishings, large and comfortable rooms with all the amenities you could ask for, and immaculate. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable too. We have now stayed on the first level and the second and they are both equally fantastic. The Montague is our favorite hotel, and I wish I could explain the feeling better, but here it goes. It feels very high end, yet so comfortable and welcoming. Every single person that we came across at the Montague was authentically warm and so kind. I don't think I have ever experienced this quite so much in any other hotel. To say the staff is amazing is an understatement. From checking in, to the doormen, to the breakfast staff, (best hotel breakfast) bar staff, room cleaners...they all deserve so much praise. I hope we make it back to The Montague someday and I know it will be just as perfect. Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make this hotel so wonderful!

Our stay at the Montague on the Gardens was absolutely wonderful. The staff is so friendly, attentive, and professional. The room, while quite small as the vast majority of hotel rooms are in Europe, was clean and comfortable with an amazing shower. Because the hotel sits on a short street in Bloomsbury, it was also a very quiet place to stay. I heard no street noise at night at all. The Montague is also the place where there will be fun little surprises along the way - thoughtful little gestures that show you their attention to detail and to makeing you feel like a welcomed and valued guest. The front desk and concierge staff are excellent, but so are the wait staff in the restaurant. Always had a smile, knew our coffee order each morning after the first visit. We stayed three nights and wished we had time to stay longer. You won't regret choosing the Montague on the Gardens.

Bloomsbury has long been our favorite part of London and now the Montague on the Garden is our new favorite hotel. From the charming atmosphere to the unbelievably friendly staff to the comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast, everything there is perfection. We would like to extend a special thank you to Franki at the front desk who welcomed us at the start. Omari and Megan were also kind and helpful. Everyone at the Concierge desk was great. And another thank you to Mia, Noel, Megan and Kelsey who took great care of us each morning at breakfast. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Our recent stay at Montague on the Gardens Hotel was wonderful. We were looking for a hotel near the British Museum to see the Bayeux Tapestry exhibit, and the Montague is right beside the Museum! The service was so friendly and attentive. The room (overlooking the gardens) was lovely, and there was the Leopard Bar, complete with live music and delectable cocktails. The hotel also serves food (The Blue Bistro), which was also very good. We enjoyed the luxurious but homey sitting room next to the lobby, which featured cushy sofas and chairs, and an array of newspapers. The location is near a number of other museums and attractions, and the charming Russell Square park, as well as public transit. A lovely splurge to end our trip to the UK.
