Reviews for The Montague on the Gardens

Attentive, elegant, pristine and charming!

We circled around and waded through the seemingly countless London hotels before we finally landed on the Montague and we are so very glad we did! This hotel was the epitome of charming and classic London. It had everything we hoped it would in terms of the traditional London essence. The entire property was gleamingly clean. Everyone on staff was pleasant and genuinely eager to assist. Our room was spacious and immaculate and had all the comforts and amenities you could want. We celebrated a milestone birthday and received cards and gifts from staff. All of this and then add in the fantastic location! On the doorstep of the National Museum yet on a perfectly quiet street. Steps to the tube, to shops like Tesco and Sainsbury’s, to cafes, a short walk to Covent Garden, Trafalager Sq etc. And always someone there to open the door for you no matter what time of day or night. Sebastian at the concierge desk was particularly helpful and pleasant. We can’t wait to return and make Montague on the Gardens our home base again!

Simply The Best

Dear Montague Team, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for another amazing stay at The Montague on the Gardens. Every time I visit, it truly feels like coming home, and this visit was no different. A special thank you to Sam, Sonia, Declan, and the two lovely young ladies at the Leopard Bar (please forgive me for not catching your names). Your warmth and attention to detail made our evenings so enjoyable. To Mustafa, who welcomed us on arrival and greeted us each morning with such a bright smile – you’re a gem. The breakfast team was fantastic as always, and I want to mention Henry in particular—his polite and gracious manner didn’t go unnoticed. It’s always a pleasure starting the day with such wonderful service. I'm also so grateful to the housekeeping team for keeping our room pristine throughout our stay. A big thanks to the lovely young lady who did the evening turndown service as well – I appreciated the thoughtful touches, including the delightful chocolates! A special mention to Big Mart, the saxophonist – it was such a joy to listen to you both evenings. And of course, to Bigger Mart: your afternoon tea continues to set the bar. The chicken, celery, and almond sandwiches are still the best I’ve had, and the pastries are works of art. Honestly, every dish we had during our stay was delicious and beautifully presented. To the entire Montague family – thank you, thank you, thank you. Your genuine care and exceptional service make all the difference, and I can’t wait to see you all again in just a few weeks

Great location. Nothing else.

Lovely hotel from the outside and lobby. Suites are very outdated, not particularly clean. Dust collectors. Light shades (2) were visibly broken, entire suite needs updating and repair in bathrooms, electricity updating, shades, everything. Turn on one tv and the second goes on as well. When I asked the desk what to do they told me to go behind the second tv and unplug it. Seriously? Breakfast adequate. I paid extra for the suite. Very disappointing experience. Location excellent. Will not stay again.

Knight in shining armour

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I would just like to express a big thank you to one member of staff who was my knight in shining armour. I managed to leave my phone charger at home and he went out of his way to let me borrow a charger for the night! When I brought it back the next day he wasn’t at work . So I thought I would leave my thanks here. Nice to see a member of staff go above to help someone.

A superb gem in the middle of London. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and perfect cheese Fondue. The rooms are unique with individual styles.
