Superb pre Theatre Dinner

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had a pre Theatre dinner @ One Aldwych and the staff were exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly. This started from the moment we came in the front door and the young lady on reception was so helpful and friendly. This also extended to the dining room where the female maitre’d apologised for keeping us waiting - barely a minute. The waiters were efficient, attentive and very polite. An excellent experience and certainly a wonderful restaurant for a pre theatre dinner.

Service much worse then before

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

For many year I have been coming to this hotel regularly since everything was just perfect. However, on my last stay from March 31 to April 9, 2026, I was very disappointed, so many things went wrong which so far always worked perfectly. So, what happened? One night quite late there was insistent knocking on my door (I was on a call on the computer and couldn't open right away) and there was a waiter with a glass of champagne... except I hadn't ordered anything. When one the second to last day I received a preliminary invoice, there was a room service charge... and I never had room service. I wrote back to please delete that charge, but on the following day, when I left, it was still there. And they wouldn't believe me I didn't have breakfast at 5 in the morning (for which the charge was). In the end, they told me they would remove the charge, charge my credit card and send me the final invoice per e-mail. As of now, I am still waiting for the invoice. I will probably give this hotel another chance, but if it continues like this - thus becoming a very mediocre hotel - I will not stay here again.

Another wonderful stay at our favourite London hotel. Perfect location for Covent Garden and Theatre Land and always a welcome smile when leaving or coming back. The rooms are immaculate and house keeping superb. The breakfast is very good with all round lovely staff .
