Afternoon Tea in The Drawing Room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This afternoon immensely enjoyed afternoon tea in The Drawing Room. Superb service, first class sandwiches, scones & cakes & plenty of them. Delicious perfectly brewed tea of your choice. A very pleasant historical setting. Unhurried & relaxing atmosphere, superior to other venues in central London where I've had High Tea. Unintrusive piano playing of quality accompanying the tea. A reminder of days gone by, never to return, when Britain was Great. First choice for a special occasion & I'll certainly return.

Top Hotel in the World for Good Reason!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

An absolutely perfect experience. Every need was anticipated by this outstanding hospitality team! From our arrival - complete with a complimentary upgrade - to our departure, we enjoyed all the hotel had to offer. When I called down to let guest services know I had a pharmacy delivery coming in due to an unfortunate cold that set in, not only did they hustle it up to my room - they added a pot of fresh lemon ginger tea, another special touch without needing to ask. The history tour was fascinating, and what a wonderful job they’ve done preserving the rich storyline that exists within the walls of the OWO. This was further captured by the afternoon tea experience with their spy-inspired naming of the sweets and treats. My daughter was also able to take advantage of the Pilates reformer class in the morning, which she raved about, a nice and unique guest service. While I am grateful to have had so many fantastic hospitality experiences in the past, this ranks at the very top of the list. Especially in London, where 5-star hospitality is so well done, The Raffles shines thanks to its unique historical and glamorously executed guest experience. I hope to be back sooner than rather than later!

Stay away

Luxury item lost from room **3. Incident reported to the police and crime case opened. Based on feedback Security Manager gave me (his name MP) there has been 2 (!) similar incidents at the hotel in the past. Hotel claims that they did an investigation with no results. They ridiculously offered two nights stay as compensation which was rejected. Just stay away from his place.

Tour of the history of the OWO - fabulous experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We recently had a private tour of the OWO with Emiel. It was SO interesting and just absolutely fascinating to hear the history and the roles of the people who worked there during the war and afterwards. The experience was made all the better because Emiel was so passionate about his role and he obviously loves what he does! All of us had the best time and would highly recommend it.

Delightful afternoon tea in historic location.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our visit was exceptional in beautiful tranquil surroundings. We were met by name at reception and shown personally to our table. The member of staff was very polite and professional. He explained all the teas available and their respective notes and the history behind the varied delicacies. The tea was well presented and looked a delight. One of the best we have ever had! The Hotel itself is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. We found the history of the building fascinating and our server was very impressive with his historic knowledge and anecdotes. We would recommend visiting and spending a few hours in a location steeped in history and intrigue.
