The Ritz London

The Ritz London is a beautiful blend of old-world Gilded Age grandeur and modern comfort. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels timeless — richly decorated, elegant, and unmistakably iconic. While the dress code may feel strict at first, it quickly becomes clear why it’s enforced. It preserves the character of the space and maintains an ambiance that truly suits the heritage of the hotel. Once embraced, it enhances the experience rather than detracts from it. This was our second stay, booked through the Leading Hotels of the World Aurelian program. While we haven’t yet received an upgrade through the program, the overall service and experience remain polished and professional, and the hotel’s standards are consistently high. The Ritz succeeds in blending tradition with modern comfort, offering a stay that feels both grand and refined. It remains one of London’s most iconic hotels, and we continue to enjoy returning for its atmosphere, history, and sense of occasion.

Absolutely let down by the ritz. I had an afternoon tea reservation for 22nd December, however I was unable to attend. I tried to cancel on the link from the email, however it would not work and so I called the hotel and cancelled verbally on the phone. There policy is to cancel outside of 48hrs which I fully respect, I cancelled this reservation at 14.22 on 15th december. I have provided them with a screenshot of the phonecall to them, yet they claim I didnt make the phone call and therefore insist that they have followed procedure by charging me £240. I have advised the ritz of the financial impact this has had on me, I raised the claim with them on 23rd December explaining my mortgage was due out on 3rd January and they have still not resolved this. They have given me a final response to say they are not refunding me. I am exceptionally disappointed and suprised with the handling of this, this is an error on their behalf and not mine and I have been penalised for it financially. I am sharing this to ensure this does not happen to anyone else.

From pulling up outside and having the car doors opened for you to leaving 2 hours later was an absolute pleasure. The whole ambiance was warm, friendly, and you were made to feel special. We were there for Afternoon tea on our Wedding Anniversary. We were shown to our table by a very nice young lady and seated. From that point it was gold standard all the way, nothing was too much trouble and it was a very special experience for my Wife & I Would we go back?…Definitely!

Booked a celebratory lunch for my wife’s 70th with the family. The preparatory questions were clear and relevant and helped to steer the event including the custom cake. We were made very welcome by the lovely staff who made a point of including our two grandchildren aged 7yrs and 5yrs into the festivities. The Ritz dining room is a very special place in its size, magnificent decor and outlook over Green Park but we were made to feel very comfortable in this exalted environment. The menu was limited ( always good to see ) but tempting and each dish was executed with skill and precision with attention to maximise the potential of the first class ingredients; the venison was a particular triumph. The wine list was a tome that deserved time and consideration but offered a marvellous selection of fairly priced wines for a venue of this calibre. You would be hard-pressed to find a better alternative to render a memorable stamp on a special occasion. Thank you Robert Walker

Perfection. The staff here truly make this hotel magical. Angelica help us get our room in time for our afternoon tea reservation prior to check in. No request is too complicated and is done with in literally a minute. Food was excellent as well. Yea is a must. We did the Christmas Eve Gala which was magical. Our room was so spacious with our Christmas tree and presents left for us. Live Christmas music played through out the hallway. I felt like a princess!
