The Ritz London: Where a Man Like Me Belongs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Now let me tell ya somethin’ — when Michael Lindhagen touches down in London, he ain’t stayin’ just anywhere. I go where there’s class, where there’s history, where the staff don’t flinch when a man walks in with polished shoes, a sharp suit, and a wallet that don’t close. That place? The Ritz. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like royalty. No joke. The lobby? Gold trim, crystal chandeliers, marble floors — breathtaking. It don’t matter how tough you are, you walk in there and suddenly you’re sittin’ up straighter. You talk a little smoother. You remember your manners. The service? Top of the top. The doormen knew my name before I even said it. The bellhop handled my luggage like it was Fabergé eggs. And room service? Impeccable. I ordered a late-night whiskey and a steak so tender it could’ve sung opera. Now let’s talk about afternoon tea. Yeah, I did it. Sat there in a tailored jacket with Gionna lookin’ like a million bucks, sippin’ Earl Grey like I was born into old money. I ain’t even mad. A man’s allowed to indulge once in a while.

My daughter & I had a wonderful champagne afternoon tea & the whole experience definitely lived up to (surpassed, actually) any expectations we had! The quality (& amount) of the food was excellent & the staff were very friendly & welcoming!

Old-World Charm – A Stay to Remember!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

There are hotels that impress you and then there are those that stay with you. The Ritz-Carlton, London belongs firmly in the latter category. From the moment we stepped into the grand lobby—with its sweeping staircase, polished marble and understated florals—it felt like I’d entered a quieter, more elegant world. Everything about the space whispers discretion, refinement and deep-rooted heritage, yet somehow it still manages to feel warm and inviting. Check-in was swift but unhurried. The staff weren’t just professional—they were deeply intuitive. It wasn’t the typical “scripted hospitality” you sometimes expect at luxury chains. They remembered my name, took note of the smallest preferences and always seemed one step ahead—from my tea order at breakfast to a perfectly timed umbrella on a rainy afternoon. Our room was a celebration of timeless British style: high ceilings, crisp linens, a marble-clad bathroom and windows that opened to charming views of the Green Park. There was something incredibly calming about the space—designed not just for Instagram, but for actual rest. Turndown service was like clockwork, with thoughtful touches that felt personal, not perfunctory. Breakfast at The Ritz was, unsurprisingly, a highlight. Buttery eggs, warm pastries and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger just a little longer. One morning, a pianist began playing softly in the background—it was completely unannounced and entirely magical. While the grandeur is undeniable, what stood out most was the hotel’s humility. There’s no sense of trying too hard. The service flows effortlessly and the team carries a quiet confidence that comes from knowing they’re the best at what they do. In a city full of exceptional hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, London has carved out its own definition of luxury—anchored in sincerity, poise and that ever-elusive feeling of being genuinely cared for. We left feeling restored and quietly inspired.

stayed two nights at The Ritz, immersed in the timeless elegance of Piccadilly. From the first moment, you could feel the attention to detail: ornate lounges, antique mirrors, and fresh flowers everywhere. The room, though not huge, was refined, clean, and equipped with the comforts that make you feel pampered (robes, slippers, minibar). The highlight? Afternoon Tea in the Palm Court: three tiers of warm pastries and scones, accompanied by 18 types of tea, champagne, and live music. A perfect ritual. Dinner at the Ritz Restaurant was memorable: classic dishes prepared with Michelin-starred precision, spectacular service, and a cinematic atmosphere. The presentation of the Anjou pigeon à presse and the flambéed crêpes Suzette were unforgettable. The staff is truly attentive and formal: staff anticipate every need, attention to detail, and a dress code that maintains the magic. Any points for improvement? The price is record-breaking, and the size of some rooms is a bit small. Even snacks at the bar, although well-prepared, could return to their more classic form (rumors of innovative gadgets are not convincing

Dinner at the Ritz. Wow.

We came for Dinner and we were blown away by the food and service. There is a reason why the restaurant has two Michelin stars; one of the best meals we’ve ever had. A stunning menu. The staff were faultless throughout. We had a couple of cocktails in the bar beforehand; also really top class. Highly recommended.
