A wonderful afternoon tea experience at The Ritz! My wife and I visited to celebrate her birthday, and it was a lovely way to mark the occasion. The elegant surroundings and beautiful atmosphere made it feel truly special. A memorable afternoon together and a place we would be delighted to visit again. Highly recommended!

What a disappointment, the hotel is beautiful, staff amazing but the quality of sandwiches were very basic. The variety of cakes was lacking in imagination, scones were tasteless, all in all for money we spent was not the experience I was expecting.

My brothers and I had planned to take my parents for their 70th and 80th birthday celebrations to the Ritz London on 3rd October 2026. A special celebration birthday cake was arranged along with purchasing a wonderful Ritz teddy bear to give to them as an ever lasting memory of the occasion. This should have been a day to celebrate with the people who matter the most in the most talked about London hotel, however this was not to be the case. Just last week I had a call from the Ritzs expressing their condolences as they where now unable to accommodate our booking, and due to other commitments planned for the day, they where unable to accommodate another time for that day. As anyone would know when booking up such establishments the minimum time is 3 months, so to find a suitable alternative to accommodate in under one month would just be impossible, which has proven to be the case. The Ritz could and would not see the extent of the detriment this has caused to my family and the occasion, the only thing they would do to acknowledge the double booking their end was “4 glasses of champagne, the next time we booked with them”. Given the date and reason for the occasion this doesn’t help the situation that the day has now been ruined, and it’s a day that wouldn’t return. The Ritz have basically washed their hands with the fact they have made the mistake due to now having a “private function” on, and have left me and my family high and dry, not even refunding me for the Teddy bear or even issuing a birthday cake as any form of compensation. This is my second attempt to enjoy the Ritz and restore the faith in it being the most famous hotel in the world, however for me it’s only famous for 1 reason now, being the “worst hotel in the world” and if anyone is planning on going there I would urge you to not, Claridges is far superior then this hotel in every way!

Wow! What a fantastic experience. We have been to the Ritz several times but always wanted to stay. We booked a deluxe king “puttin on the Ritz “ package for our 35th Anniversary. It was a fabulous experience from start to finish. Our room was ready for 12 noon arrival and was beautiful. Champagne on ice, fresh fruit and a Ritz key ring we’re waiting us. Our bags were taken to our room while we went to the secret garden. Although we were not told about extensive building works and different rooms for entrance, bar and afternoon tea, it did not disappoint!! You wouldn’t know this work was being carried out and the new areas were just as impressive as the old. Service was to a very high standard throughout our stay. The secret garden was beautifully done with tables separated and impressive umbrellas to protect you. Service and food was amazing. This is well worth a visit although minimum spend could be high for some! The new bar is just inside and looks as impressive as the garden. Loved the water features and the superb lighting at night. Afternoon tea was to a very high standard and my nut allergy was catered for without losing the sppearance of cakes that I normally do in other hotels. Service was exceptional and staff managed to have long chats with us which was lovely. All three rooms in this area were decorated to a high standard and really set the tone along with the pianist who played throughout our tea. Back to our room after our tea and the bed had been turned down with our slippers complimentary from the Ritz ( with their own bag ) placed next to each side of the bed with fresh rose petals around them. Also placed within the bath were fresh rose petals and two roses near the taps. My hair straightens lead had been tied with a leather Ritz branded strap. Eye to detail is exceptional here.. The inroom bar is stocked full including fridge and all the lights and blinds are operated via buttons next to the bed, each side. Asprey toiletries, Dyson hairdryer, safe, shoe horns, etc all thought of here. Absolutely fabulous!!!! We finished off our stay with breakfast in our room which was all done very professionally and looked amazing. We cannot fault anything with our stay at all. Only sorry we had just one night but it’s a night I’ll never forget. Check in and out was smooth. Exceptional entrance, with a friendly service, with a smile. ( Remember cash to tip, unfortunately the one thing we forgot but will not next time). Highly recommend the Ritz London and hope to return again very soon 😊
