Located within the city's vibrant, historical district of London Bridge, the hotel is nestled between floors 34 to 52 of Renzo Piano's iconic building, The Shard. Its 202 deluxe guest rooms including 17 spectacular suites, are amongst the largest in London, all with floor-to-ceiling windows offering unparalleled views across London. This hotel is one of the best I've ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome. You are greeted downstairs at the front door by the bellman, who takes your luggage from you and delivers it to your room. Check-in is on the 35th floor - the same floor as the hotel restaurant, Ting. The views are spectacular. It's incredible to wake up in the morning and see London at your feet. Even the men's washroom on the 35th floor has a view! I cannot say enough about the staff. They are always so welcoming and greet you with a smile. From the doormen to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone is so nice and greets you with a smile. The hotel location is very convenient to dining options and public transportation. Borough Market is a short walk away, and the London Bridge Underground Station and Train Station are directly next door. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Best part - did I mention the views? I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

While the overall experience at Shangri-la The Shard was good, it fell a little short of what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. The room had impressive views, but oddly enough, much of it was blocked by the large TV. The best view was actually from the bathtub, which was truly exceptional! The bed was very comfortable and made for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was fine, but not particularly memorable. Guests are not proactively told that you can order hot items from the menu alongside the buffet, I only found out after asking. I tried the blueberry pancakes, but they were thin and underwhelming (I honestly make better ones at home, though I don’t run a 5-star hotel!). The swimming pool is one of the highlights, with an incredible view of London. You need to book in advance, which I appreciated as it meant it wasn’t crowded, offering a sense of privacy. However, the water was surprisingly cold. The sauna, overlooking the city and has an unbeatable view. Service overall could have been more polished, nothing major, but for this level of hotel I expected better attention to detail. I’d recommend staying here at least once for the views and the unique experience, but for me it was underwhelming overall, and I don’t plan to return.

Had a great stay. All team members were so attentive to us and made our visit so special! Many thanks to breakfast staff who helped my partner get something to eat while he was so poorly. Would recommend 100%

The hotel itself - stunning. Boujee and instagrammable beuond belief. Not why we stayed though. My son was having surgery at St George’s across the road to the hotel. So we stayed for 3 nights back in May. It is the service that sets this hotel apart from others. From booking to leaving every single thing we asked or needed was dealt with care, speed and huge respect. I had contacted in advance to explain our circumstances. They insured we had as large room as possible with best view as our son would be staying after surgery. Binoculars for him to view London to pass the time. I had emailed to say that he was nil by mouth on the second day but the day we arrived we missed the children’s swim slot in the infinity pool. Trying to make as fun of an experience as possible we had hoped to take him. Not a problem. We turn up at the time we said we’d be arriving and they had arranged for him to be allowed in. Staff were expecting us by the pool. Incredible. He needed breakfast before the normal times as was nil by mouth from 7am the next day. 6.15am on the dot his toast and juice was delivered - complimentary from the hotel and with well wishes. We returned - he was still very drowsy from surgery - a wheelchair was immediately brought across for assistance for us. I could not this hotel in any way. Yes it’s expensive but it’s the staff that are truly the pride of the place. The care and genuine concern shown I will be forever grateful for at such a stressful time. Thank you

Wow, Fabulous hotel and the staff were amazing too. If you ever have the opportunity to stay here do so, you will not be disappointed. We stayed for one night for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. We had superb room and the Gong restaurant was great too as was the swimming pool.
