We held our Wedding at the Shangri-La, in the Sky Lounge and Ren rooms. Our 80 guests universally praised every element of the experience. “What a wonderful venue” said a guest before the wedding ceremony itself got underway. The hotel certainly delivers that wow factor! Everyone praised the service delivered by the superb staff. The food (Canapés, Wedding breakfast and bowl food in the evening), was sumptuous. Our friends with very particular food allergies said they had never been so well catered for at an event. The meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians all agreed their food was excellent. Even our suppliers on site (photographer and musicians), commented on how great the hotel staff were and the food supplied. In terms of planning an event, the hotel staff on the day delivered immaculate customer service. For us the hotel event planning team went beyond our expectations. They were super efficient, had a can do attitude and wonderfully friendly persona. All in all if you are planning a wedding, family party or corporate event you will have a stunning day at the Shangri-La The Shard. When we consider the overall cost compared to other London venues, the flexibility and service of the staff planning the day and delivery on the wedding day, the quality of the drinks and food, we would say that we received stunning value for money. We also stayed at the hotel with our daughter’s family (including a toddler) for two nights. We had a fabulous stay. Even as London people we found the view mesmerising. The rooms were comfortable and extremely well presented. The breakfast was of a very high quality and extensive range, The restaurant staff were super friendly and efficient. The pool on the 52 floor was fun. The food and service in the Gong bar was very good too. All in all if you are looking for an iconic location and true five star hotel experience we would recommend the Shangri-La at the Shard.

Another great stay at this wonderful hotel. It is so well located for my visits to the south of the Thames. The staff are fantastic and the Ting restaurant is a must where the staff are so attentive. I rate it 10/10.

This was a bucket list trip with a friend who has terminal cancer and had always dreamed of staying in London's tallest building. The views did not fail to impress and the whole team were utterly lovely and welcoming. The accessible room was great apart from minor details, we had to ask for a shower seat which was not in keeping with the room. The soaps, conditioner and shampoo were also difficult to access for someone in a seat. Minor details really and it did not distract much from the luxury experience. A proper treat.

This should be a really good review however we waited 1hr 30mins from ordering to get our breakfast. We went to walk out but they said it will be only a little longer and then we walked off and they brought it out as we walking off. Something was going quite wrong in the kitchen that day! The reason for the 1 star is that when I emailed to share my dissatisfaction they kept asking for my booking reference which I didn’t have, they said they needed for GDPR, I gave my name and partners name and when we stayed and our room number but they said they needed booking reference number so I said forget about it and hence the review!

A beautiful hotel, but beware that you may not receive your £300 a night deposit back for a month! Unlike other major hotels, they don’t hold a value on your credit card they actually take it in advance (this seems unreasonable to start with), but the painful part is how long it takes to get this back. I stayed on the 6th Sept and as of 26th Sept they are yet to receive my £600 deposit. Beware. The customer service is lacking. I shouldn’t be chasing this, for a hotel of this standard.
