Sofitel London St James

Everything about our stay at Sofitel St. James was perfect. The building is elegant, both of the rooms we had were chic and very comfortable, and the location is arguably the best in London. One night, we had an excellent dinner at Wild Honey Bistro, and our daily breakfasts were also very good. The St. James Bar is a real gem, staffed with knowledgeable, talented and friendly bar professionals. We’re not going to forget those Bee’s Knees cocktails! Most importantly, not only the bar team, but every staff member we encountered was gracious, warm and very efficient. At the end of our initial five-night stay, we decided to add one final night following a brief trip to Ireland. Although the hotel was almost full, the reservation desk was able to find a room for us. When we returned a few days later, we received the warmest of welcomes and discovered that we had been upgraded to a suite. We really hope that we’ll be able to visit London, and stay at the Sofitel St. James, soon again. Merci mille fois, Sofitel St. James!

We loved our stay at the Sofitel. The location is amazing, the quality of the services and products is great and the staff is very friendly. Jazmin gave us the warmest welcome at the front desk, Evan at the breakfast was friendly and always made our kids feel special, and my favorites were Hassan at the restaurant and Juan at the bar... those two went above and beyond to make our stay even more amazing and unforgettable.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Only a short walk to Piccadilly circus, Trafalgar Square and some excellent restaurants.

We had to stay here for a few days twice in quick succession because of unexpected hospital visits. I am a Diamond member and really appreciated how they pulled out all the stops to get me the rooms I wanted both times - recognising particularly that it was a difficult time. Camellia on reception/duty manager was brilliant and I thank her. Also Ryoka who did everything she could to help. Bar staff too were great - Mikey is a real asset. Any problems - go to Sally Ann in Guest Relations because I doubt there’s anything you need that she hasn’t dealt with before - lovely lady. This hotel is in a great location with St James Park, Horseguards, Trafalgar and Leicester Squares all very easily walkable. Rooms variable but the studios suites are great for disabled guests with accessible bathrooms (but not obviously so like they are in many hotels). Breakfast was very nice - plated hot food (only streaky bacon which is a shame for us Brits), good cold buffet. Food in the Bistrot was lovely. Room service was a little disappointing with overcooked slightly tough steak, bread that had clearly been left out a while and was hard on one side, average bolognese. That was a minor issue - I thoroughly recommend this hotel. Last time in London I stayed at the more expensive Raffles and I’d choose this over that anytime.
