About the Hotel

Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

Happy Stay!

Good location and excellent service. The road in front of the hotel was blocked due to construction. Vincent helped to take our 14-pieces of luggage from the back of the hotel to the front desk ! He is amazing. The warmth that Nicki ,the breakfast team and Shraddha make our day!

Beware of Thieves in the Lobby

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed at St Martin’s Lane from August 15th to the 19th of 2026. As soon as we got to our hotel on Aug 15th, we were resting while waiting for our room to be ready. Within minutes of being there, our bag containing our passport and belongings were stolen. We were right next to our bag and had momentarily closed our eyes to rest after an overnight flight. We have the police report to prove this happened. The experience was traumatizing. The hotel did not offer anything on their end to rectify the situation except point us to the police station and give us access to a printer. The lounge of the hotel was not equipped with sufficient security cameras to identify the thief. Their explanation was that these things happen because it’s London. When we asked to get clarity on who was able to walk into the lobby and steal our bag without the security team noticing, they shrugged off our worries. The fact that a reputable hotel that charges exorbitant amounts for your stay cannot assure safety and downplay something so traumatizing as theft is disappointing to say the least. They compensated us for nothing and offered no consolation for their lack of vigilance. I wondered whether someone within their staff was complicit. How else do you explain a situation where the security cameras could not capture the thief’s face, justify that the crime occurred behind a pillar and therefore not visible? Take our advice and stay elsewhere. You have lots of options around Covent Garden.

Fantastic!!

It was great!! Comfy beds and clean rooms, friendly staff, especially Nicki!! Everybody created a wonderful atmosphere. The breakfast was good and you had a variety to choose from. The location is great, we had easy access to so many good restaurants and stores, and even though it was in central London the noise control was really good, it honestly wasn’t loud at all. Overall totally a 5 star experience for its price, would return!!

Fabulous London Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We had a splendid overnight stay the night before a big family celebration. We were warmly greeted by Paulina and Phil, and shown to our one bedroom suite which had wonderful views across the London skyline towards the Thames. The room was thoughtfully appointed and we really appreciated the champagne and sweets on arrival. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and the location is perfect for enjoying all that the iconic Covent Garden has to offer.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at St Martins Lane in London. The location is perfect, walking distance to most things and easy bus/metro to anywhere further away. Everyone at St Martins Lane was wonderful, including our every morning server, Shraddha Ryada! Thank you!!!
