About the Hotel

Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

Reviews for St Martins Lane London

Fabulous London Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had a splendid overnight stay the night before a big family celebration. We were warmly greeted by Paulina and Phil, and shown to our one bedroom suite which had wonderful views across the London skyline towards the Thames. The room was thoughtfully appointed and we really appreciated the champagne and sweets on arrival. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and the location is perfect for enjoying all that the iconic Covent Garden has to offer.

Fabulous experience at St Martins Lane!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at St Martins Lane in London. The location is perfect, walking distance to most things and easy bus/metro to anywhere further away. Everyone at St Martins Lane was wonderful, including our every morning server, Shraddha Ryada! Thank you!!!

Very nice family place

Amazing place and stay . Everything was taken well care of . It was my daughter’s birthday and they made it very memorable. A big shoutout to Nicki and the breakfast team who became my daughter’s best friends during our stay .

Great rooms - bang average service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Ok - we had a great room - but we paid for it. The room wasn’t ready when we checked in (3pm) but that was sorted quickly. Although I think if you’ve got a room booked for one night or 20 hours you should be able to check in at the advertised time! In the morning, when breakfast was served to the room the waiter ignored my request to place the items down in the privacy of the lounge (3 times) marched past through to the bedroom area of the suite and then described in slow and great detail everything on the tray. We didn’t want him in the bedroom at all let alone pointing at a coffee cup saying ‘coffee’ (which was cold as they don’t use cafetieres) This is a hotel that needs a lot of work on service.

Great hotel but avoid room 602 in hot weather

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We really enjoyed out first stay but: 1. My wife was unwell and the room (602) was so hot. We had the maintenance guy in the room twice and he said it was working. It was not and by mid afternoon every day until early morning it was way too hot. If the room’s AC was inadequate to the heatwave or broken down we would have much preferred to know to make other arrangements. 2. The hotel is great but the staff seem mostly unhappy and unwilling to help. One exception is the guy who operates the coffee machine who was friendly but this was one out of many. 3. I filled in a hotel sent survey with this same feedback 4 or 5 days ago but no reply yet
