Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

My family and I had the most wonderful overnight stay at St Martins Lane Hotel. Everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The room was stunning — so beautiful that it made us wish we could stay there forever. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and all the products provided felt truly luxurious. The scent in the room was unforgettable and added such a special touch to the whole experience. At reception, we received a very warm and friendly welcome. Veronica, Brayan, Vi, Mamme, Didar, Dimitar, Aldo, Kelvin, Reinis, and Antonio were all fantastic — professional, kind, and attentive. The restaurant experience was just as perfect. The service provided by Monika, Joseli, Shred, Richard, Miguel, Jose, Nevish, George, and Joao was outstanding. They made our dinner feel truly special. The steak was delicious, and the pasta with shrimp, butter, and garlic was loved by our daughter! We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at St Martins Lane for such a warm-hearted welcome and for creating these unforgettable moments for our family. We will definitely be back!

Stayed for a few days at the hotel, was a very good stay. The room size given that this was in London was substantially larger than we expected which was good. The room was well appointed with plenty of plug outlets. The hotel staff was similarly very professional and friendly. We enjoyed the stay immensely and would return the next time in London. Convenient to the tube as well.

St. Martin’s Lane, once celebrated as a modern, eclectic hotel designed by star designer Philippe Starck, is starting to show its age. There’s not much to complain about. The staff is friendly, everything is well maintained, and the overall experience is pleasant. However, the concept can no longer compete with newer boutique and designer hotels. The décor seems to have changed very little over the past 30 years, and as a result, you no longer see people lining up to get into the bar. A comprehensive refurbishment would do the hotel a lot of good. On the positive side, the rooms are exceptionally quiet. The windows are excellent—you hear absolutely nothing from the street or neighboring rooms. So despite being right in the city center, it’s a great place to relax and unwind.

Nice location, great staff, spacious rooms in comparison to other city hotels. Perhaps a bit worn our at times but all ok. Would stay again.
